Penn Jim,

Could you be more specific? What evil ways? </font>
Though your question is not addressed to me, here's a sampling (and yes, I voted for him because he professed to be a born-again Christian):

However, I do not intend to vote for him again because of what I've found out since 09/11. :(

Here are a couple more links, if anyone cares to know the truth :( :

This is all very disturbing to me. Why is it that just because someone professes to be a born-again Christian, the Christian community, Conservatives, and Republicans, give them a free pass on everything? This really grieves me. [IMG]

Did you say the same thing in defense of Bill Clinton? </font>
Well let's see.....last time I checked, Mr. Bush wasn't having any flings with women other than his wife, or many of the other things Clinton got caught doing. What most people seem to be whining about is the fact that Mr. Bush mentions God and, depending on which wing you hang out on, he either does it too much or too little.

I pray for my President. Even when that was Bill Clinton. It's the responsible Christian thing to do.

Thanks, SheEagle, you did a better job answering the question than I would have.

Hardsheller: what a disingenuous answer. Did you read any of the links? Most of the stuff in the first link she listed (the best one and only one needed IMO) can be verified in any major newspaper, liberal or conservative.

Do you really think you can avoid giving an intelligent response so easily? Just answer any argument with a clever one-liner?

Do you actually think that JUST because something in on the internet that it is NOT true? Do you realize that every bit of available news appears somewhere on the internet?

I'd like to see someone defend Bush's record as a "conservative". Obviously it can't be done, because when you dare challenge any sacred Republican, all you get is a personal attack or clever one-liners taht don't prove a thing.

The evidence is in, and it is that Bush is a liberal leftist, with virtually the same positions as Bill Clinton and Al Gore.

    </font>
So, by your standards Bush should be given a free pass based on forgiveness and understanding, but Clinton should not?

Why can we not question Bush's positions or actions?

Oops. I thought it said "illusions," not "allusions." Sorry.

    Yes, PENN JIM,

I looked at ALL the links trying to fathom in my pea size brain what you people are talking about.

What I saw on those web sites is a lot of political claptrap.

If everything you say and "they" say about George Bush is true then he should be in prison not the White House. Give me a break!

    Thanks, PA Jim.

    From Webster:

In the olden days, such activities such as Clinton selling our technology to the Chinese or Bush having family business ties to the bin Laden family via Carlye (and subsidiary defense contracts which make huge profit from armaments used in U.S.wars), and family business ties to the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia who then funnel millions to terrorist groups, Bush having ties to Islamic Jihad Groups & Islamic Fundamentalists who openly promote destruction of America, Bush giving Normal Trade Relations to China, seeking to give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens in the U.S. without checking them out first, employing a devout Muslim (from the most fundamental Islamic Wahabi sect) working in the WH administration, not to mention other actions done as U.S. President, would qualify as sleeping with the enemy & would be considered treason to those seeking TRUTH, those who don't have preconceptions based on what one tries to appear to be or professes to be.

Benedict Arnold was considered a traitor for less!

And to think, Al Gore was condemned by the Right for taking campaign finances from the Buddhists. That pales in light of what Republicans are permitting to go on. :(

There is a U.S. Constitution which our Presidents, no matter who they are or from what political party, are sworn to uphold. That hasn't been done for many years by any administration or congress.

    Wake up, America. [IMG]

As Christians we should value, uphold, and put forth TRUTH with more integrity than nayone in the world.

That's what bothers me the most about most of these debates. It is absolutely shameful to see the doubld standard held by Christians for politicians.

If you like Bush's policies, fine. But, then admit that you really don't think that abortion is an emergency worth all the attention that can be given to stop it. Admit that you thing the federal government chsoud have more control over your childrens' education. Admit that you think federal spending for nearly everything should be greatly increased.

AND ABOVE ALL, IF YOU ARE GOING TO DEFEND GEORGE BUSH FOR THESE THINGS, THEN DON'T CRITICIZE DEMOCRATS FOR DOING THE EXACT SAME THING.

Like I said previously... I do not know the man personally. I know many folks who would say that I am not the best Christian they have met, and others who think I an the epitomy of Christianity. I am what I am... a sinner who has been forgiven and tries the best I can to walk in His will.
I may not agree with all of Bushes political thinking but I will continue to support him as our president.

    j barner,

I often hear people say "I support the President". But I'm not sure exactly what that means.

Does it simply mean that you pray for him and wish him the best, hoping that he does the right thing? If so, then I support him too.

Or does it mean something else?

It means I pray for God to give him the extraordinary wisdom and vision to lead a nation such as ours. Difficult job. I would not want it. I would say I support the person who holds the position and his advisors.

I answer about what if Al would have been elected... We would have lobbed a few missiles and then forgot about it because that intern is mighty pretty and Bill got away with it. seriously we can't say. I believe he would have handled 9/11 the way Clinton handled all the attacks during his watch. A lot of bluster and no real action taken.

Well, as Mr. Keeper, the landlord of the Double Eagle down in the village, says at times like this, "Closing Time, M'Lords, Ladies and Gentlemen, Closing Time."
