President Trump took his message “straight to the people” Thursday in a wide-ranging and at times contentious press conference that covered Russian relations, leaks to the media, immigration policy, the final fate of ObamaCare and a multitude of other subjects.

Trump complained at the White House presser that he “inherited a mess” from President Obama, but nevertheless pledged to fulfill his campaign promises.

“I’m here again to take my message straight to the people,” Trump said. “As you know, our administration inherited many problems across government, and across the economy.

“To be honest, I inherited a mess — at home and abroad — a mess,” said the president, who has served for less than a month, adding that “ISIS has spread like cancer. Another mess I inherited.”

Trump also used his nearly half-hour introductory statement to take a stinging shot at the press corps.

“The press has become so dishonest that if we don’t talk about it, we are doing a tremendous disservice to the American people,” said Trump.

“The press is out of control. The level of dishonesty is out of control,” he added.

Boy, does that excuse sound familiar.

Maybe he shouldn't have campaigned for the job knowing it was such a mess?

It was an excellent newswer. Reminded me of Jesus ranting at the Temple, turning over the moneychangers tables. It was about two weeks past due. Awesome for ratings. I just thought for sure he would "fire" a couple of the reporters there. That would have been hilarious.

I would not kalla det a rant. I think of ranting as being angry, yelling, pounding on the pulpit. He seemed to be in control.

Made for good entertainment, though.

"Very fake news", they really don't know what to do with Donald Trump. But that press conference was just hilarious, I think there is order in the chaos, method in the madness.

Great press conference!!

Showed more courage in the face of a hostile press than any president I can remember.

Wow! Wow! Wow!

Comparing Jesus to a man guilty of infidelity, to a liar, to an unethical business man, to a narcissist ... that is totally amazing.

Who is the "Checks and balance" of the media? Don't say the sheeple, because most get upset, but lack the ability to take up the cross and do what is needed to stop these liberal, meely mouthed haters.

Like all the foks on the left, you got from that what you wanted to get. I just said it was a Jesus in the temple like moment. Any time a person is willing to take on evil is a temple moment. If that is comparing him to Jesus, you are probably of the same mind set that believes if a person goes into Burger King, they must be a Whopper? GET A LIFE E.W.& F.

Yeah, let's keep the train of thought on a roll. If Trump is like Jesus, then your hatred for him is akin to that of the Devil's hatred for the Father.

In case you don't read into this like you did with your big "WOW!" moment, I just compared you to the devil. Or did I?

Glad to see that the Trump worship knows no bounds, apparently.
