I don't know who Evan Thomas is actually. I'm making that statement based on who makes the statement on this board and where I hear it in my own experience. Conservatives are saying that liberals Obama as their god. That's simply not true. If YOU HAVE to call Obama a god then I suppose that's in relationship to his predecessor who was much closer to the other end of the theological spectrum.
liberals on this board told us obama had done nothing wrong and was being crucified, sound slike the messiah doesn't it.
it was posted here months ago, a video, obama worshippers calling him the savior.
so no, it isn't conseratives, we seen proof otherwise.

JustChristian, if you are going to pretend to be someone else then you will have to forego the off topic Bush bashing. It's a dead give away.

Point of order: Did the "off topic Bush bash counter" reset when JustChristian changed his name to Freedom?

Can I get an official ruling on this?

It would hardly seem fair for JustChristian to loose his high score just because he got banned and had to assume a new identity to continue his game.
Two accounts is against BB rules, and is a banning offense.

Correction, the video shows Farrakhan saying Obama is a SIGN of the Messiah coming. He didn't call Obama the Messiah, the conservatives said he did. I also don't recall anyone saying Obama was perfect or has done nothing wrong, we simply said he didn't do most of the things the conservatives are accusing him of.

Perhaps politics in general has spent so much time spinning truth to where no one understands the difference between those statements.

The more I see of Obama and his cronies the more I am reminded of three parables- one Biblical and the other two not.

1. The blind leading the blind

2. The king who had no clothes on but everyone was afraid to tell him.

3. Animal Farm

"Napoleon is always right."- George Orwell, Animal Farm, Ch. 5

"If a window was broken or a drain was blocked up, someone was certain to say that Snowball (Bush) had come in the night and done it, and when the key of the store-shed was lost, the whole farm was convinced that Snowball had thrown it down the well. Curiously enough, they went on believing this even after the mislaid key was found under a sack of meal."
- George Orwell, Animal Farm, Ch. 7

"It had become usual to give Napoleon the credit for every successful achievement and every stroke of good fortune. You would often hear one hen remark to another, 'Under the guidance of our Leader, Comrade Napoleon, I have laid five eggs in six days'; or two cows, enjoying a drink at the pool, would exclaim, 'Thanks to the leadership of Comrade Napoleon, how excellent this water tastes!'"
- George Orwell, Animal Farm, Ch. 8

"Reading out the figures in a shrill, rapid voice, he proved to them in detail that they had more oats, more hay, more turnips than they had had in Jones's day, that they worked shorter hours, that their drinking water was of better quality, that they lived longer, that a larger proportion of their young ones survived infancy, and that they had more straw in their stalls and suffered less from fleas."
- George Orwell, Animal Farm, Ch. 9

"ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL, BUT SOME ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS"
- George Orwell, Animal Farm, Ch. 10

Please tell me, though, that you see the double standard employed by the media with Obama vs. Bush...

Oh, yes- here's another...

Funny as this is, these same statements can be made equally against both parties. Neither party is all right or all wrong yet they both have people blindly following in the name of wearing the party label.

We can also say the inverse is proven to be true, there are people so anti-Obama that he could be absolutely right but they feel obligated to call him wrong or take an opposing position just because they blindly follow the "opposition".

Not against Bush this early in his presidency.

I still recall seeing Bush standing in the smoking ruins of the WTC. That was almost a year into his presidency. He was proudly our president at that time and the press was in love with Bush. I recall him sending troops to Afghanistan. Again, the majority of the nation backed Bush and the media loved him.

You have to give Obama time. He is only 4 1/2 months into his administration. He will make mistakes and the media will make their bucks spreading the news. So far, he hasn't really had time to make a major mistake like invading Iraq or trying to convince a moral, Christian nation that torture is okay. But he will. They always do...

Yeah, it's not a mistake to buy up our banks and automakers.

It's not a mistake to enact a ridiculous "cap and trade" tax.

It's not a mistake to promote a healthcare plan that forces Americans to buy healthcare...and will essentially run small business into the ground.

Oh boy, I don't think I can take another "not mistake."

Face it, LeBuick...for whatever reason, Obama is getting a free pass on most everything. ANd he doesn't have the extraordinary circumstance that Bush had...

Someone asked for the quote, here it is:

THOMAS: Well, we were the good guys in 1984. Hasn't felt that way in recent years. We're seen too often as a bad guys. And he is a very different job from Reagan was all about America, and he talked about it. Obama is, we are above that now. We're not just parochial, we're not just chauvinistic, we're not just provincial. We stand for something. I mean, in a way Obama's standing above the country, above the world. He's sort of God.

MATTHEWS: Yeah.

THOMAS: He's going to bring all different sides together.

Someone else made the comment that if Obama was God, it would be unconstitutional, because it would be establishing a religion...

ACTUALLY.. .the constitution says, CONGRESS shall not establish a religion....Nothing about the prez... LOL

I thought of that also. But who in their right mind could have imagined eight months ago that the man sitting in the White House could make such bold moves in such a short amount of time with almost no cries of opposition from the media or the Congress?

I don't think we completely comprehend how much our lives have changed in just a few short months. And quite frankly I fear of what has yet to pass. Hopefully I am wrong.
