This could potentially be a great qb class this year, me thinks. Many new names are emerging. John Mateer and Fernando Mendoza to name a few. Mendoza could be the first pick when it's all said and done. I think Manning stays in school, but who knows.

Top 2026 quarterback prospects
  • Garrett Nussmeier (LSU): A popular early favorite, Nussmeier has impressed with his arm talent, anticipation, and pocket presence. After sitting behind Jayden Daniels, he has taken the helm as a leading Heisman candidate.

  • LaNorris Sellers (South Carolina): Sellers is an elite athlete at 6-foot-3, 242 pounds, and has one of the strongest arms in the class. As he continues to grow as a passer, his high-end physical traits could make him a top-10 pick.

  • Drew Allar (Penn State): With prototypical size and a powerful arm, Allar has the physical tools NFL teams covet. Though he has faced questions about his consistency, analysts expect him to thrive with more talent around him this season.

  • Arch Manning (Texas): The nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning, Arch is one of the most-hyped prospects in recent memory. While his Week 1 performance was disappointing, his talent is undeniable, and he has plenty of time to live up to his potential.

  • John Mateer (Oklahoma): After a stellar transfer season at Oklahoma, Mateer is rising fast on draft boards. His arm talent and mobility were on full display in an impressive Week 2 performance against Michigan.

  • Cade Klubnik (Clemson): Klubnik has demonstrated solid accuracy, arm strength, and mobility. While not considered elite in any one area, he is a well-rounded prospect who has received high praise from opposing coaches.

  • Fernando Mendoza (Indiana): The former Cal transfer is the new early Heisman front-runner after a dynamic start to the 2025 season. He is a strong pocket passer with mobility and the type of size scouts look for.

  • Taylen Green (Arkansas): A dual-threat transfer from Boise State, Green has impressed with his athleticism and ability to create plays. At 6-foot-6, 235 pounds, his skillset is intriguing to pro evaluators.
Also the QB from Oregon, Dante Moore is starting to get some press.

NFL Tackles.

Many teams need Offensive linemen. It seems like there is always a demand.

Of the top three, only one is staying. That's Spencer Fano (Utah). Francis Mauigoa (Miami), Kadyn Proctor (Alabama) are falling on boards due to not playing as well as people had hoped.

Even though Fano's a right tackle, many believe that he can play the left side. I think Fano wil go top five in the draft, with two to three QB's . His counterpart Caleb Lomu (Utah) is starting to get some buzz also.

I'm watching film on the right tackle Gennings Dunker from Iowa right now. Iowa has a history of producing good offensive linemen. Especially for wide zone blocking schemes, like the Browns and S.F. He's 6'5" 315 unofficially. Expect Him to climb boards if his athleticism scores well and his length checks out. He's a right tackle and has some concerns in pass protection. But I'm thinking if he falls short there, he may be a great candidate to move inside and be a left guard like Joel Bitonio did for the Browns.

As for center, Conner Lew is considered the best center prospect so far. I thought that it would be Jake Slaughter from Florida. Guards, I'm not really up to speed on them yet. It's still early.

Here's some film on Gennings Dunker from last year.

Right now the Jets appear destined for the first pick and they would undoubtedly select their QB of the future. However, their defense is an abomination.

There's going to be a tight race for the top spot this year. Strength of schedule is the first tie breaker.

From AI

"Yes, the NFL Draft uses strength of schedule (SoS) as a primary tiebreaker for teams with the same record, with the team that played the weaker schedule (lower opponent win percentage) receiving the higher draft pick. Strength of schedule is dynamic and changes as the season progresses because it is based on the combined records of a team's opponents, which are themselves affected by each game played during the season."

Current standings on strength of schedule? As best I can tell, the Jets are about 26th. Which is good. The Raiders may be lower. I'm trying to find a site that keeps up with the strength of schedule calculations every week, but haven't found one yet.

Gennings Dunker from Iowa is going to climb boards. He looks undersize, though. Hard to tell about arm length. He look pretty athletic. He blocked for Kaleb Johnson last year, which is saying something. This kid is starting to grow on me. He's a good guard at worst.

TY Simpson of Alabama. He sat behind Jalen Milroe last year. They just beat Vanderbilt and before that Georgia. From those highlights he looks like a very twitchy, mobile QB with a strong arm. The Vanderbilt game he looked good. The Georgia game he looked even better. This guy fits the mold of the modern day NFL QB and would be a better fit for the Jets. He does look to be undersize though. Fernando Mendoza reminds me of a young Joe Flacco. More of a traditional pocket QB.

I'm not sold on Dante Moore yet. I haven't seen anything from him yet that impresses me. I'll need to see Moore :). I'm guessing that Dante Moore falls out of that top teer before it's all said and done. Sellers seems to be too much a project right now. With project, comes risk. Ty Simpson could climb boards fast. He reminds me of Baker Mayfield.

Since the Browns will probably be looking for a new head coach and GM next year, as everyone here is calling for Keven Stefanski's (H.C.) and Andrew Berry's (G.M.) heads, QB is still an option for us, though we are in desperate need of offensive linemen. We'll get to see what Shedeur Sanders can do before the years out. This could be a very good class for QB in 2026. It's still wide open. We'll see if Mateer plays against Texas. That will be a good game to see what he's got.

It's simply amazing to me how well Jacksonville is playing now. They were a top five pick last year. Now they are 4-1 and beating good teams. Travis Hunter really hasn't made an impact. The new head coach took a Trevor Lawrence that many people were calling a bust and is winning with him. It just goes to show, coaching matters.

@Dave... are you an Ohio State fan like me?

I gave up at predicting which college QB's will make it in the NFL after being wrong so many times.
Yes. Ohio Sate. I thought they would suffer losing Chip Kelly as Offensive coordinator. We'll see.

Also, me thinks Carnell Tate could be a better pro than Jeremiah Smith. I know it's a stretch, but he's more physical and that serves WR's well in the NFL. His forty time is anywhere from 4.6 ( NFL Draft Buzz) to 4.72 (On3), unofficially. Jerry Rice was rumored to run a 4.65. It's in the legs to hands coordination and route running. I got a gut feeling on Carnell. He could be special. Colbie Young from Georgia is really impressive also.

Ruben Baine and Miles Garret. Not a bad consolation prize if the players we like are off the board.

Lucky for us, the two other top offensive tackles who were falling are now apparently starting to redeem themselves and solidify their spots at the top of the draft. That being, Francis Mauigoa (Miami), Kadyn Proctor (Alabama). The more the better. I still like Fano best.

Spencer Fano and Caleb Lomu. I wonder if we can get them both.

Here's some flilm on Caleb. You can see Fano on the right side. Fano seems a lot better. Caleb may be a later 1st round, maybe even a second rounder?

Jake Slaughter should be a first round pick at center. They say for a wide Zone blocking scheme, which the Browns use sometimes, that a very athletic, mobile and intelligent center is critical. Jake Slaughter could go very high. I wonder if he'll even be there at the end of the first round.
