Do Not Pronounce Words that Began with A Vowel as If They Were a Consonant

On her blog, Geri Walton posted Nine Singing Rules for 18th Century Singers. The rules come from the 18th century London song book The Convivial Songster (1782). I post this with no endorsement of the rules and with the disclaimer that these are not intended to be biblically based rules. But for those of you interested in both music and history, you might find the subject interesting.
