I'd say the issue is probably abortion(I thought this would happen when Roe vs Wade was overturned).

The reason I think this is polls have shown that 30% to 40% of Republicans support the "right" to abortion. If liberty is a priority (historically it has been with Republicans) and the data is accurate then a large portion of Republicans believe that the GOP platform is encroaching on the rights of citizens.
Thanks for the comment. It played a bigger role than expected. Kansas, pretty Red, voted down abortion restrictions.

I think the messaging from the Dems was repubs wanted no abortion, no exceptions, not even rape, incest or life of the mother.

Repubs made a mistake not articulating a position (often) hoping to ignore it and focus on economy and inflation. That allowed Dems to define them as extreme on abortion.

Here we are, two days removed from the election, and about 40 house races have not been called. They are still counting votes in Nevada, Arizona and other areas.

If the repubs end up with vast majority of those house seats, and control of Senate, it still could be a red wave.

Question: Without sounding too cynical, is it possible there is a deliberate effort to slow the count to deny the repubs the visual of a red wave?

I think the fact that votes are not all counted on election day is a travesty and SHOULD be criminal.

I wouldn't put anything past the bureaucrats.

I could understand the necessity for recounts when it’s close, but we have several dozen races yet to be complexly counted.

I don’t think I have ever seen this many races where, two days out, some states have yet to count hundreds of thousands of votes.

Florida has one of the largest populations and were finished same day.

Arizona/Nevada has about 1/10 the population and have hundreds of thousands of ballots yet to count.

Florida had lots of early voting and mail in voting as well.

It just seems very odd to me, especially when the officials say everything is going well.

May depend on State law - in the past - absentee ballot in NY State could not be counted until 2 weeks after the election. The purpose - count all absentee at once . Ballots had to be mailed no later than election day. Suppose they did count them as they did come in - and suppose on the very last day - only one ballot arrived. Then it would be easy to know how that individual voted. They did change it this year - so I am not familiar with the details.

At the moment - our Congressional district - is 49-49% - waiting on all absentee ballots.

Thanks for the comment.

Absentee ballots were much bigger over the last few cycles. I also saw a story that Arizona law requires each mail in ballot to be visually inspected to determine if the signature on the envelope matches what is on file.

250,000 “mail in ballots dropped off at ooling stations instead of mailed.

We won’t know Senate control until December, even without the Georgia runoff.

Don't fail to consider that the longer they can drag out the final tally, the more opportunity for slipping in a few(?) dead votes from the "memorial precinct", and/or finding a heap of ballots in somebody's car trunk, or ----!

I understand the concern. I have heard the oversight is much better this cycle. In fact, the reasons given for the delay in Arizona is new laws requiring each mail in ballot received must have the signature on the envelop compared to what is on file before it’s open and added to the count. With the additional several hundred thousand mail in ballots received, 250,000 on Election Day, it is taking a lot of time.

I am curious, though, whether it was a strategic effort to delay the vote count and deny repubs the “red wave” talking point.

Not only was there no “red wave”, looks like Dems maintain control of the Senate and the House is still up for grabs.

At this point, I won’t be surprised if Dems keep the House.

If repubs can’t win with 80% of the country saying we are on the “wrong track”, POTUS approval at historic lows, inflation at 40 year high, gas prices up 75%, wide open border with millions of illegals pouring across, drag Queen strong time and trans ideology including re-assignment surgeries for children being pushed in our schools….

….How can repubs ever win agsin?

The leaders of repubs must step down. They cannot be rewarded for this abject failure.

There is absolutely no reason for POTUS and Dems not to be emboldened to continue to push their agenda thst is, imo, destroying this country.

Evidently Dems prefer to vote via mail -in
and R's tend to physically go to the polls.

Props to JD Rucker:

Why are so many people who were absolutely certain the 2020 election was stolen suddenly blind to the fact that 2022 voter fraud was even worse? Only a precious few conservative and alternative media voices are even mentioning the notion of massive, widespread voter fraud.

The gaslighting isn't just coming from the left. It's coming even harder from the Republican Establishment that wants to blame Trump, abortion, "bad" candidates, or anything other than a coordinated attack on our nation and our Constitution.

Florida was NOT the outlier. Florida is what happens when voter fraud is quashed and actual voters got to have their say at the ballot box without late night dumps, computer "malfunctions," and ballot harvesting schemes at nursing homes and cemeteries.

The polls are always wrong... in favor of Democrats. This is the first time in modern history when the polls, corporate media, and everyone else predicted a red wave and it didn't materialize. It wasn't that everyone was wrong. It was and continues to be outright theft.

I know there's a lot of coping involved. Believing the 2022 election was stolen would be admitting that we no longer have a say in our government. Our voices are being quashed and there are no apparent avenues of recourse. But truth is truth. Stop coping. We MUST address this.

If you truly believe Pennsylvanians are so masochistic that they'd elect a guy who can't form a sentence to the Senate, an Attorney General who promotes crime as Governor, and a dead guy to the state legislature, then you believe Pennsylvanians are absolute morons. They are not.

"It's the economy, stupid."

These words have always rang true. We are in the midst of the worst economic crisis of our lives and there's ZERO chance America rewarded the Democrats with two more years of Senate control. ZERO. They stole it and so few are uttering those words.

They called us racists so we did backflips to prove otherwise. They called us terrorists so we stopped going to school board meetings. They called us insurrectionists so we stopped going to protests. Now they call us election deniers so we're accepting these results. I won't.

It feels like only a tiny portion of Americans are lucid and courageous enough to acknowledge the red tsunami was stopped by ongoing voter fraud. That means a majority of people are gullible, feckless, stupid, or a combination of the three. If that offends you, I'm not sorry.

The only for this nation, Lord willing, is that the same thing that happened with the jabs happens with voter fraud. It took far too long but people are finally waking up to the risks of the jabs. Maybe someday they'll wake up and realize elections are being stolen from us too.

Making accusations based on unfavorable outcomes is not evidence of fraud.

And yes, I believe people can be “absolute morons”, otherwise no one would bring their kids to drag Queen story time, allow pornography in elementary school libraries, forces their daughters to share bathrooms lockers rooms and compete in sports against mentally ill men.

Would it matter? The proof you request? If no one is held accountable, there will never be ‘proof’. There is plenty of proof about Hunter Biden & the big guy. Where is that going? Where is the truth about Paul Pelosi? It just went away when the truth became inconvenient. You want to willingly let your country be transformed while waiting for those in power to provide you ‘proof truth’? You’re funny, but you look good doing it, thanking everyone for their ‘good comments” & that’s the main thing I suppose. How’s that proof truth going for the vaxes? Joe wants the emergency use extended until spring, or forever, whichever comes first.

I thank people for their comments, whether or not I agree with them, as long as the comments are civil and thoughtful.

I’m pointing out the accusations lack proof. You can’t just say, “I think more repubs should have won, therefore there must be fraud”. We used to call that being a “sore loser”.

If you are expecting “justice” from a secular government, you are expecting too much.

There will be no justice until Christ returns. Only then will the “truth” be revealed.

My country is in Heaven with my Lord Jesus Christ. I know from His word the whole world goes after the antiChrist. The US will not be spared.

canadyjd sez: “There will be no justice until Christ returns. Only then will the “truth” be revealed.”

Absolute total agreement here, but that doesn’t mean that we should not hold the cheaters accountable - after a thorough investigation of course. ‘Course we know the bent of the “investigators”, so probably is a moot point!!

I am in Florida.
We had a Red Wave.
We had a Republican Candidate that WE believed in.

What we didn’t have is a deep-state, tinfoil hat, conversation about massive voter fraud that keeps turning up all smoke and no fire when actually investigated.

What we did not have is a rererendum on “SHOULD TRUMP BE PRESIDENT”.

Every place that made this election about 2020 and Donald Trump and tin-foil hat conspiracies discovered that most people “just don’t care”!

I could have told you that. I held my nose and voted for Trump in two General Elections and ZERO PRIMARIES! His only claim to fame was not being worse than Hillary Clinton. Some of the Trump policies were good, but all of the TRUMP DRAMA was bad for the party and the nation. Time to move on and let the mediocre dinosaurs fade away and turn into oil or coal.
