No sound

In the past half hour, I have lost sound on my computer.

I click on the sound icon - turn the volume all the way up, and it falls back to zero in a matter of seconds.

Any reccomendations?

Thank you for laying hands on my laptop (w/no headphones). I don't know what I did, if anything, but I am now able to enjoy the sounds of Old-Christian Radio

I do get sound (without have done anyghing) unless I am on AOL!
