Hey the NO mayor is under A GREAT DEAL OF STRESS! How would any of us react under the same stress? Thank God it is doubtful I will ever know.

Is he over wrought, paranoid, and depressed? I would be under similar circumstances. Lets cut the guy a break. If he is too far over the edge then it is up to the people around him to get him help. It is not up to us to judge his behavior.

No I don't believe the CIA wants to kill him, and yes I think he needs some help. That help might be a Dr., Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, his own pastor, the LA Gov., President Bush, his wife or who knows where it might come from but lets support a man trying to save his city.

There was an interview with a white man who worked in some goverment post in New Orleans related to the disaster on the news this morning.
He said that the day after the levee broke Wal-Mart sent a full truck of food and water to the area and that the FEMA representative said, "We don't need that," and MADE the truck turn back.
He said, "We got communications up on day one, and the FEMA represenative cut the lines. Said that they would mess up his communications."
He said that one of the men who stayed with him had a mother in a nursing home who called and called and said, "Son? Are you coming to get us," and that the man working with him would say, "Its okay Mama, there is help on the way. FEMA is here." And that the mother DROWNED.

Given those stories - I can see where the Mayor's paranoia is a bit justified.

Whoever the FEMA idiot was, he needs to be arrested and charged with mass murder.

As soon as this guy opened his mouth I thought, "there's New Orleans problem right there". He has done absolutely nothing but try to pass all of the blame on at the federal level. He is incompetent. The fact is, a lot of people in LA didn't know how the federal disaster system works, and the federal reps who arrived first didn't know what they were doing.

That isn't President Bush's fault, but it IS a sign that there needs to be some SERIOUS performance evaluations and firings done at the federal and state level.

I want the new head of homeland security fired too. I heard his interview this morning, and he was much more worried about covering his tush than he was about saving Amerians. I don't trust my life to him.

No matter how me may agree or disagree with certain individuals the help of everyone is needed. The people mentioned here are not entirely bad, they are doing what they can based upon their own agendas, and what they see as right and wrong. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton probably wouldn't like me very much if they knew me, but does that mean I think they have nothing to contribute? No it doesn't they have a voice that is heard by many and they may just be able to use that voice for some good. My point in my original post was that we should be supporting the people trying to deal with this tragedy, and we can assign blame for any failures ]b]AFTER[/B] the needs of the people have been met.

I saw that on Meet the Press this morn. That guy had an agenda for sure. I heard that nowhere until this interview with Tin Russer. It seemed even Russer didnt believe him. Can you believe that they would turn back a truckful of water from Wal-Mart? C'mon. Why is this the only place we are hearing of this incident? The dems would be on this like flies on a gorrilla.

I respect your opinion but must disagree. These people's agenda's are strictly political. I dont believe the President should have made the trip as it takes up valuble resources, but he would have been scorched if he didnt. There will be plenty of time for these blowhards to scream their garbage in a couple of weeks. Right now lets let the National guard and military do their jobs. They are still,still, trying to talk some of these people into leaving their homes even with bodies floating by their homes in 8 feet of water. J.J. and Al will get their media time.

President Bush and Governor Blanco are the incompetent ones. Mayors of cities are not there for major disaster relief. That is a State responsibility, and in a massive situation like this one, a federal responsibility. No mayor, no city, can handle the situation that has happened in New Orleans.

I'll be glad when Bush is out of office come noon on January 20, 2009. I don't regret my vote for him last November considering who his Democrat opponent was, but I would certainly not vote for him a third time.

His administration failed to plan how to handle a massive disaster domestically just as it failed to plan how to handle Iraq once Saddam Hussein was deposed. I think we have what is called a pattern here.

It starts with local people and I believe all major cities have a plan for dealing with disasters. If anyone at all knows that plan, it has to be city leadership and that's the mayor.


What they lacked was leadership. That should also come from the mayor. The man is a fool and incompetent. He was in way over his head but instead of admitting it he points fingers and then, in his paranoia states the CIA is going to kill him.That finishes the picture. He is also delusional.
