North Korea Fires Two Missiles

Russia and China are in precarious positions because they both supplied components for the North Korean missles. NK is showing activity around a missle site again. It was reported that one of the missles that failed was headed towards Hawaii. I really believe it is possible that God's angels caused these missles to fail, but of course there are people who will refuse to see God's protective hand in this.

Stop and think demented (if possible) in this scenario. Our leaders probably haven't even thought of this, but what if, what if firing of these missles is just to throw the rest of the world (US included) off the track. A diversion: Fire a few missles and then arm a nuclear head when the rest of the world thinks it is just another old missle being fired. Toss a few bones for the world to chew on and then unleash the biggie. What effect do you think it will have on the world /US economy if one nuclear war head lands on US soil? What will happen?

Of course, now here comes my eschatological world view into play: I believe the trumpet will sound and we who are looking for His appearing will be gone in the twinkling of an eye just seconds before the nuclear warhead reaches its intended target here in the US. So, yes, I can sleep soundly at night, knowing all of this is in God's Hands and His Word is true.

 

That would mean every last person in the military is behind Bush. BTW, the last time they took a poll, most of them wanted a timetable to get out. Rumsfeld is not liked or respected by the brass, largely because he ridiculed their (accurate) predictions of difficulty in Iraq, and detested by the troops because he sent them in ill-equipped, and then lied to them about the reasons. They aren't so crazy about his opinion that they were getting too much extra money in combat pay, either.

Bush has tried to keep his distance from the debacle, not successfully, as it turns out. So far, six retired Generals have called on him to sack Rumsfeld for various mismanagement.

“There has been poor strategic thinking in this,” says Zinni. “There has been poor operational planning and execution on the ground. And to think that we are going to ‘stay the course,’ the course is headed over Niagara Falls. I think it's time to change course a little bit, or at least hold somebody responsible for putting you on this course. Because it's been a failure.”

Zinni spent more than 40 years serving his country as a warrior and diplomat, rising from a young lieutenant in Vietnam to four-star general with a reputation for candor.

Now, in a new book about his career, co-written with Tom Clancy, called "Battle Ready," Zinni has handed up a scathing indictment of the Pentagon and its conduct of the war in Iraq.

In the book, Zinni writes: "In the lead up to the Iraq war and its later conduct, I saw at a minimum, true dereliction, negligence and irresponsibility, at worse, lying, incompetence and corruption."

“I think there was dereliction in insufficient forces being put on the ground and fully understanding the military dimensions of the plan. I think there was dereliction in lack of planning,” says Zinni. “The president is owed the finest strategic thinking. He is owed the finest operational planning. He is owed the finest tactical execution on the ground. … He got the latter. He didn’t get the first two.”

100% of the military behind Bush? Only in fantasy land. They are professionals, and they'll follow lawful orders, even foolish and self-serving ones.

But they aren't stupid. They know, just as we do.
