    Ok, we seemed to have defined "liberalism" pretty well. Unless I missed it, let's define "fundamentalism." I quote from "Let's Weigh The Evidence" (Barry Burton):

    1) Bible is inerrant, literal and infallible

    2) virgin birth and diety of Jesus Christ

    3) physical resurrection of Christ and all dead

    4) atoning sacrifice for all sins of the world

    5) second coming of Christ in bodily form

    I'm sure some of you will add other basic teachings - I would add that scripture teaches post-salvation baptism by total immersion.

    Ok, carry on! [IMG]

    Actually the opposite of "fundamentalism" is "modernism", not liberalism.

    But you give the traditional list and it would make most Baptists and most evangelicals "fundamental" in doctrine.

    There is a (from left to right) a scale.
    Absolute locations are "liberal" (left),
    moderate (center), and conservative (right).
    Relative locations are:
    "liberal" = left of your location
    "moderate" = your location
    "conservative" = right of your location.

    On another dimension (up and down) is another
    scale. This scale is mentioned by Dr. Bob above.
    Absolute locations are "fundamentalist" (up),
    "evangelical" (center), and "modernist (down).
    Relative locations are:
    "fundamentalist" = up from your location
    "evangelical" = your location
    "modernist" =down from your location.

    Anybody for a lesson on plotting
    equations with two unknowns
    on a two-dimentional field? ;)

    Go for it Ed. Do you have a website where you could answer x,y,z, questions and then it would plot you on the graph?

    I've seen them, but never on this subject. Sounds like you have PLENTY OF SPARE TIME to work on it!! :eek:
