I have often said that if we are not be tempted by the Devil - then maybe we should take a look at our Christian life. Would you agree with the statement!

(Note: would not surprise if that is a statement that I heard a preacher(s) say decades ago)

Considering how absolutely filthy on the inside we are when we come into this world, our worst and most dangerous enemy is not Satan, it's our very own heart.

Acts of the Apostles 5:3-4, ". . . But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto Gíod. . . ."

2 Corinthians 5:7, ". . . (For we walk by faith, not by appearance; ) . . ."

2 Thessalonians 5:22, ". . . Abstain from all appearance of evil. . . ."

"appearance" its Greek ειδους in this usage, is only used these two places.
See NASB translation footnote both places.
