Not going to Church???

So if your kids have the measles or chicken pox - you would still take them to church with you?

Do you plan to cancel your church services to slow the spread of measles? It could easily spread to your state.

Frankly closing a church is living in fear. A parishioner has options if fear precludes you from attending… like online internet services. You could also screen attendees , if and when a pandemic is appearing.

So what’s the next step? Are we also shutting down schools again, closing businesses, restaurants and supermarkets. Sounds like fear mongering to me.

The churches in my area are running toward woke ideology or watering the gospel to the point it is not the gospel any more.

My wife and I have listened to online churches for the last few years. It would be nice to have the church family again but we will have to be content with what we have.
What state?

"Not Going To Church"

[sigh]

I think I am just getting too darn old. I should probably get a chair for my front porch and just yell at kids to "stay off my lawn" (of course, I will need to grow a lawn, first.)

I attend services at the local church and I feel like I am sitting under "Pastor Stuart Smalley" [SNL] as I listen to a sermon that COULD be summarized as "I'm Good Enough, I'm Smart Enough, and Doggone It, God Likes Me!" I am tired of church as a place to obtain a weakly [pun intended] dose of affirmations and anecdotes. I find myself occasionally thinking "I would like to request 5 minutes to offer a rebuttal".

It isn't really myself that I am particularly concerned for. I have had my trials by fire and learned the truth that God's arm is not short. It is the poor "Gen Z" and "Gen Alpha" that grew up without church and have come looking for REAL. This is such a pablum version of REAL CHRIST that my heart hurts for them.

[I think I will try to grow a lawn.]
