I do not want government health care at the state or federal level. I do not consider "this legislation passed overwhelmingly at the MA state level" a very high standard. Guess what would have happened to that bill in Kentucky.

Exactly. That's the point. What works (and is acceptable) in one state may not in another.

"That" passed in MA. Something else may (or may not) pass in KY. A single-payer plan (similar to Canada) has already passed in in VT.
