NYPD Officers Leaving In Droves, 75% Increase In Quitting Or Retirement In 2020

The members of the NYPD grew so disenchanted with their jobs in 2020 that over 5,300 uniformed officers either retired or quit, an astonishing 75% increase over the year before, amounting to 15% of the total number of officers on the force. The impetus for the officers quitting seemed to be the death of George Floyd and the unrest that followed; between May 25 and June 24, 2020, a whopping 272 officers left the force in one month.

Exactly what the BLM, ANTIFA revolutionaries want, no more policing in black city areas.
The inner cities are self destructing. Violent crimes are twice what they were. What happens when police no longer do supportive community policing, they only show up for violent crimes and and the after effects of violence. Not good for building community relations and keeping the peace. But that is what the radicals are demanding, they want to police themselves. Likely why they dont object to black on black violent crimes and murders much.

You know where I live, we dont need a heavy police presence, it is mostly a quiet residential areas here in suburbia. BUT, past couple years way down the street some young black people moved in and late into the night, it is loud, yelling, voices, some fighting, loud music, cars parked all over, late night partying, AND last week a murder. man found back in an expensive residential area in his car with multiple bullet wounds. So dont blame me for telling you what happens. These people are not brought up right to respect other people's property and lives. They are all young like under 30, older folk do much better than that. Maybe the young ones get mellow with age (or just too sick and tired to party all night long)
Fact is private property rights and BLM do not get along well together.

I was thinking if I lived in a house near that, it would be like being under siege in a war zone, a dangerous area. I dont see how neighbors can tolerate that. Large parties, people walking on your property, public drinking, rowdiness. Police cars racing down the streets likely due to complaints. A lady down the street tells me she can hear gunshots, always a bad sign a neighborhood is failing. and time to think of moving.

This is what they want, and the impetus behind the defunding coup. But not because they want justice, it's because they want to replace the force with their own brownshirts.

Not surprising, and can't blame them, but this does not bode well. "An enemy has done this."

The Post spoke to Police Benevolent Association President Pat Lynch, who stated:

The Mayor and City Council are absolutely trying to abolish the police. They’ve kept our pay absurdly low. They’ve ratcheted up our exposure to lawsuits. They’ve demonized us at every opportunity. And they’ve taken away the tools we need to do the job we all signed up for, which is to keep our communities safe.

Now the NYPD is spending money on slick recruiting ads to replace the experienced cops who are leaving in droves. City Hall should just admit the truth: police abolition-through-attrition is their goal. They won’t stop until the job has become completely unbearable, and they’re getting closer to that goal with every passing day.

“One disgusted NYPD sergeant said detectives and deputy inspectors have told him, ‘I’ve had enough’ and ‘This isn’t the job I signed up for.’ The sergeant fumed that ‘elected officials are cradling those causing complete chaos on our streets and taking every measure to literally handcuff our officers,’” the Post reported.

Watch them claim the system does not work (after they broke it) and to build back better, will say they need a new kind of socialist government, made for America, Americanized. But it will be the same totalitarianism just like they all are. Maybe one of the solutions will be gulags, worker camps to build infrastructure of their GND scheme.

I've no doubt the Dems are of that mentality. And their followers may be too blind to care about or grasp what's happening.

Right on RT. Yeah...Why don't we just get rid of the police entirely? Then let these "Defund the Police" dudes see if crime is reduced to nil; after all it's the police

Then let these "Defund the Police" dudes see if crime is reduced to nil; after all it's the police who are the killers, right??!!?? Whatcha gonna do when the thugs start coming for you then?? Can't have it both ways!! Granted, there probably are some who aren't 110+% angels, but what about the 99.99+ who daily leave their homes never knowing if they'll ever return alive to their families & friends?? We need to respect & honor these folks, not degrade and kill them with weapons that more than likely stolen from the law abiding citizenry in the first place. We don't pay these men & women who run to danger "To Serve & Protect" us. We don't pay them enough as it is, let alone take away what little pay they do receive (after the taxes are taken out from their paychecks BTW!!). These never-ever-do-gooders who speed in their chauffer-driven limos to attend the next fund-raising venues that seek to destroy what little law-abiding neighborhoods we've got left need to be put in THEIR places. It's one thing to condemn something that doesn't seem to pass their self-righteous muster, but it's entirely different when these dudes are in an accident (Like the one my friend & I drove past last night!!) & and can't get out on their own. If you think that I'm proud of my late father who volunteered to serve as one......You're right.

In a few areas where they have actually defunded the police they now hanged their minds and are working to give the funding back due to the growing crime.

Kinda wish they just go ahead and defund Police in blue cities. See how it works. Turn some leftists red for next election. Got to quit saving leftists from their insanity and let them drown in it.
