A new op-ed published by the New York Times this week claims the country should “scrap” future presidential debates because the events “never made sense” as a true gauge of “leadership.”

“Nervous managers of the scheduled 2020 presidential debates are shuffling the logistics and locations to deal with the threat of the coronavirus. But here’s a better idea: Scrap them altogether. And not for health reasons,” writes Elizabeth Drew.

It doesn't make sense to put a very elderly person like Biden around anyone still sharp for a debate even though his face lift and hair plugs look great if you are a person who likes plastic surgery on a guy. Actually, the Dems have no one who can debate Trump successfully. In Biden's case, he seems to have lost almost all short-term memory.

Biden and his buddies in the MSM are acting strangely (okay, more strangely even for them) here lately. Are they that worried Biden will show off his diminished abilities? And their search for a VP candidate, gotta be a woman of "color", not like a ghost, but all of them so far aren't doing well in the vetting process . , , he may have to reneg on that one, but there may be a plan in the works right now to replace him on the ticket somehow.

If Biden debates Trump at all, the MSM could do what they always do, declare the democrat the runaway winner and try to convince the American public of that delusion. Biden could have won, even against Trump years ago but not now.

The last line was funny, but by far the best for voters would be to have all the fake news reporters and pundits tied up under the stage with their mouths duct-taped shut until the election is over. Oh, yeah!

I would like to see a couple of different formats for debates.

1) (assuming a 90 minute debate) Each candidate gets 35 minutes to talk - (20 minutes for host to ask question) A candidate can speak for as long as he wants on any subject but once a candidate has used up his 35 minutes - his mike is turned off.

2) In another Debate - each candidate may ask his opponents questions.

Good point. Moderators often serve as shills when asking questions. And they can leak questions to a favored candidate.

These MSM Dem "ventriloquist dummies" are deliberately confusing the content which Dem candidates supply with the debates themselves. They are probably hoping no one noticed or remembers the inanity of the Dem debates, which they fully controlled. But campaign ads to follow.

The Dem candidates usually make no sense, but that's the point of having these debates, so the Dems can showcase their nonsense for all to witness. Biden should prove particularly entertaining. It would be a grave sin against the nation to deprive us and our posterity of it. "Come on, man."
