Whenever I see posters, shirts, etc. with Obama and the RED emphasis in the coloring I am always reminded of the Communist posters, etc. Here are a few from his website. Also notice the Progress painting... remind you of anything?

The link in the op was to obamas website of pictures they are apparently selling, your link on the othe rhand was about mockery and hate.
Big difference in posters I think.

Not when the poster of the op makes it about hate.
There is a lot of hate goin on here on the BB, it's unbelievable.

Yes, I agree. I wonder why they chose such a similarity? And they are sold out. I really want to know what the red emphasis represents...? Any art majors care to give their opinion?

Was this something you were looking for or did you happen to stumble on these pictures. Only you would know your own motives . At any rate I see way too many threads started and continued that do nothing but stir up hate an discontent and do not address any real political issues.

Yes. Now that I know it is approved by Obama (since it's sold on his site) I just want to know WHY he would want the RED emphasis when it clearly resembles…ummmm the old Communist prints, etc. Not a good choice...unless...perhaps there is some other artsy meaning behind it... ?



I guess I had the same reaction when I saw the video of the Obama kids singing (once again reminded me of another era)...after watching it I found out Obama had the video on his site until recently. I would really like to be a fly on the wall when his people are making these decisions…lol, what earth is going on in their minds that they think these are great choices. Earth to Obama’s people, refrain from using Communist, Marxist or any Socialist imagery in demonstrating your love for your leader. :thumbsup:

It's because Obama looks better with red than white or blue. Simple. And I bet he's got people on his campaign team that want to go with red because it's subtly more eye-catching and memorable.

This art is intended to propagandize, and it sacrifices art for a message linking the subject to a superhuman, deified being. By the way, Hitler used it, as did Saddam Hussein, as does Castro, as does Chavez. If O-BA-MA wins, he will be the first democratically elected leader to do so.

Two of the bottom paintings would be great art if it weren't for the central subject matter.
There is another theory in general about the significance of colors.

Red is usually the color of passion, celebration and romance

• Purple is associated with royalty, mystery and mysticism

• Blue denotes security, tranquility and reliability

• Green is the color of fertility, growth and envy

• Yellow is generally related to illumination, brightness and illness

• Black is the color of power, evil, sophistication

• White means purity, truth, coldness and sterility

Now the art work on Obama in the Op for the most part is about perception. To be more attune to the purpose of using red shades one would have understand more about the artist than ones own perception of the painting.
