Obama is following basic liberation theology instead of basic evangelical theology... His church is based in liberation.

Liberation theology teaches that Christ is our example.
And that mankind can be saved when you have the right social programs, enough education... etc.

Liberation theology believes we are saved by following Jesus' example
Jesus came to set the captives free... they don't see this as spiritual captivity, but physical captivity... free from poverty, disease, ignorance, etc...

This is why Obama wants to socialize everything.. he truly is following his faith...

It is the wrong type of faith in Christ.
But at least it shows he has listened to his pastor..

That is what his denomination stands for...
(and I am not talking about "black"... I am talking about basic "liberation" theology.. it can be white as well as black.. the basis is the same)

If I did not consider Christ to be who and what He says He is, then there is no way on this green earth that I would claim to be a follower.

To do so, would say of me, that I would follow a charlatan OR a madman.

If Jesus is not who or what He claims to be, then there is no other choice except His being a liar OR mentally deficient. To claim Him as a "good man", or "spiritual teacher", or a "moral leader", or some such trash, just confirms that the one making that claim "ain't dealin' with a full deck"!

To use Him as an example to emulate, while denying the truths He taught, is the height of either naivity or stupidity - take your pick!

Well, it could be that he just has no real idea of his subject or he's just mouthing platitudes for the gullible adoring to sponge up!

Many Evangelical Christians in the U.S. say they are outraged over President George Bush's statement that Christians and Muslims worship the same God.

The statement was made Thursday, during the joint press conference in England with Prime Minister Tony Blair. A reporter noted Bush has frequently expressed the view that freedom is a gift from "the Almighty," but questioned whether Bush believes "Muslims worship the same Almighty" as the president and other Christians do.

"I do say that freedom is the Almighty's gift to every person. I also condition it by saying freedom is not America's gift to the world," Bush replied. "It's much greater than that, of course. And I believe we worship the same god," reported the London Telegraph.

Bush's equivalence of the Judeo-Christian and Muslim gods brought reactions of shock and dismay from Christians in the U.S. Richard Land, president of the Southern Baptist Convention, the nation's largest Protestant denomination, was quoted in the Baptist Press as saying the president "is simply mistaken."
