Trump’s executive order on immigration, let’s not forget that the list of concerned countries that the Trump administration outlined in the order is based on the one signed into law by the former Obama administration. So, it looks like the Obama White House set the groundwork

So they are Muslim countries and Obama was a great mind when it came to controlling illegal immigration and refugee immigration.

Why didn't Trump augment and expand the number of countries?

the point is, the seven countries were on the list because of Obama's policies. Syria is the only country mention in the Trump EO:
