Obama set the immigration trap, and the GOP walked in

The GOP keeps missing the nail and hitting their own thumb. Must really hurt.

Meanwhile, Republicans in Congress headed into their sixth week trying to pass a measure that would pave the way for deporting not just the Dreamers, but all 11 million immigrants living illegally in the United States.

It's a contrast sure to haunt the GOP through November 2016 and beyond.

The irony, particularly bitter for Republicans, is that it's not an accurate picture of the party. Most GOP representatives in Congress support relief for Dreamers, and many, perhaps most, support legal status for unauthorized immigrants.

But congressional Republicans are caught in a trap. They're fighting for a policy most of them don't believe in as a way, they think, to strike back at the president — but in the end they're hurting themselves more than they could ever hurt Obama.

You must really be scared about your party's presidential prospects next year.

You must really be scared about your party's presidential prospects next year.

It is far too early to be either optimistic, scared or anything other than interested in watching the circus tent go up and watch the show.

Oooooooooooooh, I see - this was a grand scheme to issue an unpopular and unconstitutional EO on the behalf of Obama and it was a TRAP!!!

Nice to see Tamar take such an interest in this issue - too bad she's to the left of Obama on amnesty (she didn't think he went far enough):

Tamar Jacoby, a registered Republican, is president of ImmigrationWorks USA, a national federation of small-business owners in favor of immigration reform.

A "registered Republican"? Ought to change parties.

Actually this is a win-win for the President. If it fails then he can say: See I tried to help the Huddled Masses but the Republicans wouldn't let me.

In light of the recent ruling by a federal judge, it appears the wannabe usurper may be caught in his own illegal "trap".

Meanwhile the Clintons are taking money from foreign governments as they sell future influence based upon her electability in 2016. The Democrat sold out to the US Chamber of Commerce on the basis that Hispanics are not smart enough to vote Republican, and the Dems might be right because Hispanics do want Papa Government to take care of them.
