Obama Throws Tantrum over Gun Control Defeat

President Barack Obama lashed out defiantly and viciously at political opponents who defeated his efforts to expand federal gun regulations today. Standing with families of victims of the Newtown school shooting at the White House, the president claimed that opponents of expanded federal background checks had "no coherent arguments" for their position, and that the "gun lobby" had "willfully lied" in the course of the debate.

I listened to it on the radio on the way home. Did he pout and stomp his feet?

I listened to a small portion, he really did sound like a spoiled brat. He even blamed the constitution if you listened and really seems to hate the way our political system works on Capital Hill. I truly believe he wishes he was a King.

And here he spent so much of our money flying in the families from Newtown and putting them up in nice hotels to try to put a face to guns.

OY!! I didn't hear him speak but I can only imagine....

While I disagreed with most of what he said I was surprised to see him display a spine. He spoke with forceful conviction and displayed leadership on an issue he is passionate about. I wish more Republicans would do the same.

I heard part of the speech. the thrust is that gun control is for the protection of children and if you're not for gun control then you don't care about the children. this coming from the mouth of a president who supports the murder of babies. what a big hypocrite these people are, chief of whom is Obama the liar.

Can't argue with that. How about exposing the Philadelphia infant murderer while he's at it.

It sounds as if the Democrats abandoned the President on this issue because they have about 59 votes without any help from the GOP. So it was his own party that fell short. Gallup is saying that only 4% of the country thinks gun control is an important issue. The public is worried about economic issues, which the President does not seem to want to touch before January 20, 2017.

5 Democrats voted against the bill but Obama laid the blame squarely on Republicans. Never once said anything about the 5. He was more angry that 60 votes were needed. Dang Constitution....

More than not getting his gun bill through Obama just does not like it that he did not get his way. That is the reason for the pouting and the tantrum.

If they held a vote on Obamacare today I bet things would be very different.

Conviction over worthless issues is worthless conviction.
