One of the points I have brought out time after time in going back and forth with others about Romney vs a third party, is that a Romney victory will only delay the Republicans becoming conservative once again. Had lessons been learned from the 1988-2008 elections, we would not be facing this ridiculous choice. Most on this board who are not willing to pay the price for the Republican slide into liberalism, will live to regret a Romney victory from their viewpoint. They might wish they had done a little more grass roots work for the soul of the Republican Party.

Up until about a week ago, I was pretty sure I wouldn't be voting for either Obama or Romney (but would probably be writing in Ron Paul's name like I did in 2008). However, with Biden and Obama now "coming out" in support of gay marriage, I am tempted to hold my nose and vote for Romney. I am so fed up with liberals in politics, entertainment, news media and academia trying to co-opt the languange of the civil rights movement and shove this perversion down our throats as the moral equivalent to traditional marriage. :BangHead:

It is a fact that the Republican Party is the more Conservative party, not as Conservative as I would like but compared to the radical leftists who control the democrat party it is far right.

You may or may not be right. Politicians make calculated decisions and I am sure this is a calculated decision, a calculated risk if you want.

1. He knows that there is X% of the voters who would never vote for him for a variety of reasons. So for the election he needs pay no attention to their wants and criticisms as they will never vote for him regardless.

2. It will swing gay voters to his side. That would be quite a switch in the 2010 elections where many gays votee for Republican candidates.

3. Since a majority of Americans currently favor gay marriage this will simply agree with their sentiments, which can change, and make them more inclined to vote for him.

4. It may well erode some of the Hispanic vote.

5. While the Catholic hierarchy is against gay marriage the majority of practicing Catholics support gay marriage, so it probably will not harm Obama among Catholic voters and may help him.

It may help him in that the mood of the country has changed since 2008 and dramatically since 2005. At that time a majority of Americans disapproved of the concept of gay marriage. The latest figures I have heard and seen indicate that now a majority of Americans favor gay marriage and/or civil unions.

The election is a long way off yet. Much can happen.

Frankly I do not believe polls that show a majority of people favor the marriage of homosexuals perverts. Some people will just give the politically correct answer when polled on cultural or moral issues. Also a poll can be slanted to achieve whatever goal the pollster desires.

One additional point. The name "Gay" is a surname for many families in this country. I refuse to let these perverts co-opt that name for themselves so I never use that name in reference to homosexuals.

Regarding this sexual perversion I believe that it is morally wrong and a sin against God for Christians to engage in or endorse such behavior. The Apostle Paul says of homosexual perverts and those people who endorse such behavior as follows:

Romans 1:22-32, KJV
22. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23. And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25. Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27. And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29. Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30. Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31. Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32. Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

All those on this Forum who endorse homosexual perversion please note Verse 32.

What is wrong with you. You seem to just want to beat everyone down who does not vote the way you do. You certainly are not working to change anyone's mind or have a reasonable discussion.
So how would you suggest I do that? Someone posts ten verses about same sex relationships, for the purpose of bashing Obama, and turns right around and votes for Romney. How do I gently imply that these verses apply to Romney also?

Odd, I started the poll but FAL's listed as the OP; I guess the moderator combined two threads....

If I had my way there would be another Reagan on the Republican ticket for president. As it is I have to make a choice between a known Marxist who don't like this country and strongly favors abortion and probably euthanasia and Mitt Romney with all his faults. I am not going to have a childish pity party and not support Romney and the Republican Party this fall.

Translation: Although I will attack Obama and the democrats for his support for gay marriage, I will also overlook it when it is supported by a republican.

Kind of like you dumbing on Obama with every thread. No one here is going to change their mind, but you continue to flood the site with more junk.

Actually, your asking if I was voting for Obama or staying at home was like calling a name that I just got dinged for, as you well know, since you know that there is no possibility I would do that. The comment was unnecessary, but I do not have the power to assign three points to your account to expire in ten days.

I have no idea what you're talking about, but I meant no disrespect and certainly wasn't trying to be ugly to you. :flower:

The election is a ways off and I question if Mitt Romney can beat him. This President needs to be booted out, but I am not convinced at this point it will happen.
This was actually a smart move on his part after the VP made his announcement. This way it will be hashed out early with lower polls and the people will forget about it after the Democratic national convention when I believe his ratings will shoot through the roof.
Our nation has lost its way because the church has lost its way. I think the fact that we have a communist, Marxist President with socialist values in the white house and his opponent is a Mormon non Christian proves it when we could have had someone who was a real Christian with moral values if the church was on solid ground. Not only is it that the overall country does not want sound moral people to lead, the church for the most part does not want it either as we have turned to seek a form of godliness while denying the power of the real thing. :tear: I believe that we are about to reap what we have sown.

You took the words right out of my mouth. AMEN

So this leaves me with Romney, third party, migration, or complete succession. Or Heaven if the Lord calls me home before hand. That aside, difficult choices at the moment.

The only reason Obama made the announcement now is for political gain. He has been trying to recapture the college vote, and he has correctly read their approval of gay marrriage.

I have spent a lot of today defending the Bible against many college age friends on Facebook. Many that I saw raised in Bible believing churches.... :(

I have been called ignorant, stupid, and judgmental when I quote the Bible. America is now in the position where most people accept gay marriage.... or are apathetic enough to not do anything about it.

Obama knows this... HE will gain college age votes because of this... but prolly not many to make a difference.... because it's really not a surprise... most college age people already knew he did.. but he was keeping quiet.

It's a calculated political move that simply reflects the fact that America is going to Hell in a handbasket.

This is truly sad, but is the consequence of both the dumbing down of our schools (in which gay proganda has been spewed conitinuousy for past couple of decades) AND the watering down of teaching in our churches (where it seems too often the only absolute truth being taught is that we "shouldn't judge"). :BangHead:
