Reminds me of a quote from Samuel Goldwyn: "Spare no expense to save money on this one."

...POTUS and VPOTUS. The VP does not do that much, and there are provisions for who would take the place of the POTUS if they were to die in office.
That next in line member of Congress, etc. could do it on a temporary basis, setting up a special election to vote on a new POTUS to finish the remaining term of the deceased POTUS.
The cost of savings to eliminate the VP would be tremendous, considering the wage, benefits, perks, secret service, retirement, state ran funeral, etc.
After we do that, we could look at cutting way back on members of Congress. Again, there are WAY TOO many chiefs in the camp. If we dodn't cut the number of members in Congress, put them on half time status, and let half of them work 6 months of the year, and the other half the remaining six months. Work could be accomplished, and we'd safe a lot of money, benefits, perks security, etc.
So the guy who spends a TRILLION DOLLARS a pop is now suddenly concerned about saving money????
Internal polls may be showing that his outrageous waste of our tax dollars is a problem for his next election bid.
I remember in 2009 Obama saying he was going to go through the budget line-by-line and eliminate wasteful spending. I guess that didn't work out.
