What does God think of suicide or involving others in your murder?

It is neither suicide nor murder if I am kept comfortable and I die a natural death and am not kept artificially alive with machines.

Where is your faith? Plugging in machines and keeping me alive is not allowing allowing God to pick his time for me to die. We do not call it keeping a person alive artificially for nothing. Surely I do not want my family to go bankrupt keeping me alive artificially when I am in a terminal state. Do you? Are you afraid of death?

Your aunt should be cared for by her family members. I know that is a novel idea and it might cramp your life style a little bit. Yes, I have direct experience in caring for family members.

It simply amazes me the people that will throw their relatives under the bus when they get old. What's stopping you from helping your Aunt? What's stopping any of your other family members from helping her?

You say if she didn't have Medicaid she would have been tossed on the street and would have died within a couple of days. Man, you liberals sure are compassionate! All the conservatives I know would have helped their Aunt out and not let her die.

I have to work and I live 500 miles away. No other family members could handle this responsibility. Have you ever seen someone with Altimizers so severe they don't know anything that's going on around them? Do you know what it costs per year to keep someone in a nursing home in that condition. I'd say about $100K. My grandmother lived to be 100. Could you afford $0.5Mto support a relative? Have you done that? <pa deleted LE>

How many poor starving children in the US does your church feed? My guess would be none.

Wow. The Pharisees also liked to judge people's giving.

I'm glad God has provided you enough money to both feed starving children AND care for a sick aunt.

Yes, I have seen people in that condition. Let's see, your aunt lives 500 miles away so that's an excuse to let her get kicked out into the street. Again, every conservative I know would give up a few of life's luxuries and drive there and pick her up. No other family member could handle the responsibility? Then somethings wrong with your family if they aren't willing to help out another member of your family when they are in need.

You keep bringing up the nursing home. Again, typical liberal mindset. Shove your responsiblity off on someone else.

I keep bringing up the nursing home? Could you take care of someone in this condition in your home? I work full time. Do you have a job?

Unlike you, I'd figure something out before I let my Aunt get tossed on the street. Yes I work. If I had to do this I'd figure something out with another family member and we would work alternating shifts or something. The point is that it is not the US taxpayer's responsibility to take care of your Aunt. It is your responsibility. I know that's a tough word for you and it makes you kinda scared, but some point in life you need to grow up and leave behind your liberal "everyone else will take care of things" ways and own up to your responsibilities.

Are you aware that 50% of the personal bankruptcies and 50% of home foreclosures are due to medical costs? I'd rather live in a country that spends its money on health care than war. How about you? BTW, the US is currently 38th in the world in terms of the effectiveness of its health care but NO 1 in terms of its military. You conservatives seem to love war but hate taking care of the neediest of out citizens. How do you support that belief using Christ's teachings?

Absolutely phenomenal post.

Many of our "helpless" citizens wouldn't have lasted a week in the 1930's, 1780's, or pretty much any era before now.

Is it fair that some of us have to take care of relatives, at great cost? No. But where is, "life is fair" written?

You know I stop listening to you when you spout off false statistics. 38th in the world? Please... According to what? The flawed WHO report? Do you really need me to explain why the WHO report is flawed?

You also don't seem to know me all too well. You've made several false assumptions about me (and my church). If you had been following my posts (and I know you've been around longer than me), you'd know I'm not a fan of war.

My faith is in God: where is yours? Do you think machines are sovereign over God?

I think you faith is in the machines else you would not want them used endlessly until the plug finally has to be pulled. Otherwise you would not insist on the machines being plugged in in an ultimately hopeless case.

Machines are not sovereign over God ... that is a silly question. But the use of machines can and do interfere with what may well be God's will. Also our decisions made from fright or lack of faith may interfere with his will also.

Do you not care if your family is bankrupted by your final illness because you want the machines plugged in?

Did you know that a pretty large number of bank foreclosures on homes is because of medical bills?

My faith is in God. I am not afraid of death. I have a 'do not resuscitate' order in place. I do not want to bankrupt my family. I do not want to interfere with God's will for my life. How about you?

Do you want to bankrupt your family?
Are you afraid to die?
Do you not believe that God can and will care for us after we die?

So we now make decisions about the worthiness of a person living based on economic factors. You know nothing about what we do. You know nothing about the people that we help to feed.

By the way, if you would rather live in another country that spends more on health care than defense, when are you leaving and where are you going? I'm not the one telling you to love it or leave it, you're the one who made the statement.

There's a good reason so many evolutionists support this idea.... man without God as creator has no worth, he is simply an economic pawn to be used when he is productivity and shut down when he's no longer viable.

No, but it shows dramatically that we need health care reform.

Is it really so bad spending more on helping people than in killing people?

Why, if you love God so much do you not love your fellow mankind, whom God created, enough to help them when it comes to health care. Did God and Christ not command us to love one another?

Your comments and questions tell me much. Words do carry meaning you know.

Now, would you mind answering my question?

So if I love Jesus and others I will support the Obama health care bill. Wow, it's nice to know that now we can show Jesus our love by following Obama.

Actually you asked 3 questions, so I'll answer them all. They probably won't be to your satisfaction.

Question #1 - Is it really so bad spending more on helping people than in killing people? No, it's not. But I'd rather spend my money helping people directly than giving it to the government who will then take their cut out.

Question #2 - Why, if you love God so much do you not love your fellow mankind, whom God created, enough to help them when it comes to health care? I love my fellow man and do help them with both medical care and their payments as I am able.

Question #3 - Did God and Christ not command us to love one another? Yes, He did, but I have been thinking that maybe Jesus didn't mean it literally. It was a metaphoric meaning that I should have sympathy for them. Of course Jesus did.

It's amazing how quickly you who condemn others as judgmental so quickly judge anyone who doesn't agree with you by calling into question their love for Jesus or for others.

YOU LISTEN CTB! It was you who dragged in the machines not me.

Back to the same old putrid crab that man is sovereign over God!

Do you not care if your family is bankrupted by your final illness because you want the machines plugged in?

I got Medicare! and insurance!

Did you know that a pretty large number of bank foreclosures on homes is because of medical bills?

Source? And don't quote some leftist source!

My faith is in God. I am not afraid of death. I have a 'do not resuscitate' order in place. I do not want to bankrupt my family. I do not want to interfere with God's will for my life. How about you?

You are all heart! But just like the typical leftist you want to use the other person's money. The country would be better off if Social security had been privatized and a private plan other than Medicare had been developed.

Do you want to bankrupt your family?

That is a stupid question! And the same old putrid crab that the leftists like you and the new guy on the Forum drag in.

Are you afraid to die?
Been there done that!:godisgood:

Do you not believe that God can and will care for us after we die?

Before and after! Much better than "Uncle Joe":godisgood:
