Obama's accomplishments

how do you go about "seeking to switch"?
I live in WVa and I don't know where I need to go to re-register. I am thinking it is the local county clerk's office. That is about 1 hour from my house. I am hoping to find somewhere else to do this.

Ah I see. So it seriously took you to this point to finally be convinced to switch?

I was neutral about Obama, never voting for him. It all started with him calling, congratulating Jason Collins, calling him a hero for him coming out as being the first openly gay pro-athelete. Then everything transpired with the racial divide, and him having the gall to sing Amazing Grace after giving that eulogy. A reprobate singing Amazing Grace. Ugh. I am now seeking to switch from democrat to republican, btw...

Neither are worthy of your membership. Register as an independent if you have to declare allegiance.

Don't have to in Texas.

He has divided the country, ran up the debt, went against conress many times, pushed his leftist agenda down our throats. Now those are quite the accomplishments.

So what is new; democrats been doing that since Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

FWIW - You cannot register as an independent in New York State.

Another reason I like Texas. You can register without declaring a political affiliation at all.

An awful lot of evangelical Christians are apparently sitting on their thumbs waiting until the Republican Party nominates someone who WALKS ON WATER before they get their thumbs out and vote. People with this mindset gave Obama a second term. I would simply remind those with this mindset that we are electing a president and only one person ever WALKED ON WATER!

And if He shows up, all our problems are solved!

That was a trick statement.
In spite of not being able to register as an "independent" you can be registered to vote without declaring a political party affiliation.

And I do like about New York - is the fusion ballot.

IMHO, the National Jackass Party started moving in that direction much earlier, probably during POTUS Woody Wilson's time (1913-1921).

Woody tended to favor a lot of things that set the stage for the USA getting on its "slippery slope" to eventual destruction.

Fortunately, most of Woody's ideas never made it into law during his two terms.

I won't try to mention all of them, but (off the top of my balding head) what comes to mind would be his wish that the USA be involved in some kind of "international organization" that would try to "solve" many of the world's "problems."

This was originally a part of his so-called "14 Points" that he presented at the Versailles Conference that was held to deal with the post-WWI's "issues."

What eventually became known as "The League of Nations" was formed. The USA was never an actual part of the LofN because its passage (because it was a part of the Versailles Treaty) was voted down in the US Senate.

The LofN proved to be the failure that many predicted it would be because it could only "recommend" to the nations what it thought was a "nice thing to do."

EX: It "recommended" to post-war Germany that it would be nice if it continued not to occupy the "de-militarized Rheinland." It "recommended" to Japan that it'd be nice if they didn't seek an expansionist foreign policy, especially in Asia.

Well, the "major nations of the world" (i.e., the "victorious" allied nations in WWII) learned from this that it'd be better if "we" had an International Body with power to "enforce" its rulings via military power to "occupy" and/or "actually engage in military combat" in whatever areas it deemed necessary to do so.

That's why what we call the Korean War, is technically considered a "UN Police Action." The US Congress never invoked Article I, Section 8, Clause 10 which states that, "The Congress [and ONLY IT!] shall have Power To....declare War...."

In fact, the last time that part of our Constitution was ever invoked was in December, 1941. (I guess that means that every other subsequent military conflict in which the US was/has been engaged has been/is UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!)

Anyway, Woody favored other things too, but that's one of his biggest boo-boo's.
