As a libertarian, I oppose the Olympics being held here by and large, because govt money is often moved that way. Largesse is thrown at these efforts, and the economic benefit is minimal.
While it would've been nice to have the Summer games in Chi-town, there's a bigger issue here. Obama desperately needed something to bolster his lagging approvals. Some kind of win...ANY kind. And this was supposed to be the chip shot win for him to give him a shot in the arm. Now that's blown up in his face.

Yeah he's doing great.

All of these problems are a result of the failed Bush presidency. The problems started years ago under Bush and now we have to try to fix them. It isn't easy and it isn't cheap.
From where I sit, the stimulus is so far a great success.
