Oberlin College loses $11 million lawsuit

Oberlin College in Ohio was sued by a family business called Gibson's Bakery that had been in business over 150 years. Gibson Bakery was awarded $11 million dollars by the jury.

A male and 2 females shoplifted a bottle of wine. Confronted by one of the Gibson's, the shoplifters beat the owner. When police arrived college students tried to stop the police from rescuing the owner from the severe beating.

When the bakery pressed charges for theft and assault, Oberlin College started a massive campaign of calling the bakery racist and encouraging students to shut down the business with demonstrations.

So the bakery sued and won with more to come in punitive damages. Meanwhile Oberlin College publicly criticized the jury just to show that the college administration is stupid in case anyone still doubted.

I am having a difficult time understanding why Oberlin College called a bakery that was a family business since 1859 a racist bakery because they filed charges against three people for shoplifting and assault. Do you have an explanation?

I have no idea why the college would involve itself in the protests. They should keep hands off student protests conducted off site of the campus.

I just think it was just too tempting not to bait the bakery employees over "racial profiling" for that one idiot of a dean. She organized the protests, distributed fliers and slandered the bakery, even though the black perpetrators said it wasn't racial profiling at all. White SJWs are the worst.

I just loved reading this, especially after Oberlin whined that they couldn’t afford to pay a settlement. Maybe all their progressive college buds dan help them out.

This looks like the first(?) actual episode that slaps the face of the leftist PC crap with something they "MAY" understand -- $$$$$ !!!
