Anyone notice their cell phone battery being drained more quickly? Those in my house have been dropping like a stone. Government tracking?

Age of phones?
Not age of phones. I noticed the same thing and bought a Galaxy note 10. Pretty much the same battery life issue.

I think it is the Calvinists spying on Wingman. You know how they are....all sovereign and all.

(The AT&T store said it was just more apps being run in the background and apps taking up more power than they did previously)

Many apps may be running and quickly depleting the battery. Often applications are tracking your location and phone data. You can go in to your app settings and check as well as determine what you are willing to let those apps do on your phone.

No moron here. No one keeps their phone more cleaned up, & not with a cloth or something. This is new.

More likely an app on your phone is using more battery. Or perhaps your phone is having trouble connecting to your home wifi. If you go into Settings and look at your battery usage statistics, are there any apps that are using a disproportionate amount of battery juice? For example, are you watching a lot of YouTube? Or otherwise video intensive web sites?

Have you downloaded any new apps recently?

Does your phone use the same rate of battery when it's idling overnight?

If you put your phone in airplane mode and battery usage drastically reduces, that means some app that uses your sim card is the culprit. GPS is one of these sorts of apps. So is text messaging. And, yes, if the government were tracking you that would require accessing your sim card. (Although I would think they'd ping the cell phone towers looking for your phone's EID number first, then go to the GPS level, if needed.)

Thanks for the suggestions, I believe the wifi has been adversely affected by weather during this time frame. I’ll try to be less paranoid, but that’s probably not happening. Anyway, thanks.

You can put apps to sleep and they will not start again until you or another app restarts. The suggestion about looking at what's using your battery is a good one too.

Well I’m going nuts w/o baseball! Never in my life have I spent time and not watched a game! It’s torture I tell ya, TORTURE!!!!
I've watched a few of last years games (one's I normally would not watch or missed).

Magnum PI watched recorded games, so I figured I was in good company.....but it's not the same.

My son's first job was at the Minor League park. He worked one day for a college game. First job, one day and you're laid off.
