You quoted a song from a movie!!!!
How unrighteous... and it's a secular, ungodly song, that has nothing to do with Christianity...

Don't forget that it was sung by a drunk drug abusing actress to boot. I'm sure she smoked too -- gravelly voice and all.

Sarcasm?..Sarcasm, you say,,Repent now for this declaration of indignance, that one should employ sarcasm! Shame, I say. For shame! Got to church tomorrow...Go!

Back to the serious side for a moment. Do you all realize how many years good Christian people, in Baptist churches, played music honouring a prostitute? This was played at almost every wedding.............The Wedding March.......it comes from a well known opera and in particular one dealing with a women of ill repute.........Ironic, isn't it?

Now back to the humour section:laugh:

Cheers,

Jim

Wait..I do not deserve share in that cup. I interjected a serious note in line with the general nonsense of the thread........about weddngs, secular music in gospel churches.

I tried to bring these other two off their high stools of jocularity, but alas, to no good end........I am retired, you know!

Cheers,

Jim

I know I said I was through... but hey I'm Baptist....
I can agree and disagree with me, myself, and I all at the same time!
(which may explain the problem in the OP!!)

"high stools of jocularity" ????

That sounds like a condition salve may cure.
Hey, bitsy, do you have this condition as well?

Wow, I inadvertantly, and unconsciously got this thread back on track and maybe figured out the problem of the OP...

The problem....

Very true Tim -- get any two Baptists talking about anything and they will find a way to disagree.

I am seriously worried about Jim though thinking he did not interject jocularity into the conversation with his comments about wedding music and prostitutes.

I truly enjoyed your all's conviviality this eventide. Bitsy's jocularity and badinage, along with Jim's witticism in conjunction with his jocundity has made this eventide most nectareous...

Never hold a meeting of a Baptist committee of three unless one is sick abed and the other is out of town. You will still have a majority vote of two.

Cheers,

Jim

Rbell, you should have named this thread "alcohol is good" if you wanted a response from the one who inspired the question, Ok which is it?
