Gout? Type a pm to me and I'll give you the heads up, Pete, on some natural help for it.

There is NO AGE LIMIT for the Old Codger's Club. It is a state of mind more than a chronological record.

Man, after 10 days on a moving ship, I realized how MUCH of an old codger I was. People were ALWAYS helping me like I had one foot in the grave!

'Bout time you checked in Dr.B! It has been pretty slow in here since you've been gone!

Sue posted this somewhere, but seems to reflect more and more on the OCC (Old Codgers Club)

Today at the drugstore, the clerk was a gent.
From my purchase this chap took off ten percent.
I asked for the cause of a lesser amount;
And he answered, "Because of the Seniors Discount"

I went to McDonald's for a burger and fries;
And there, once again, got quite a surprise.
The clerk poured some coffee which he handed to me.
He said, "For you Seniors, the coffee is free."

Understand — I'm not old — I'm merely mature;
But some things are changing, temporarily, I'm sure.
The newspaper print gets smaller each day,
And people speak softer — can't hear what they say.

My teeth are my own --- I have the receipt,
and my glasses identify people I meet.
Oh, I've slowed down a bit --- not a lot, I am sure.
You see, I'm not old --- I'm only mature.

The gold in my hair has been bleached by the sun.
You should see all the damage that chlorine has done.
Washing my hair has turned it all white,
But don't call it gray --- saying "blonde" is just right.

My car is all paid for --- not a nickel is owed.
Yet a kid yells, "Old duffer --- get off of the road!"
My car has no scratches --- not even a dent.
Still I get all that guff from a punk who's "Hell bent."

My friends all get older --- much faster than me.
They seem much more wrinkled, from what I can see.
I've got "character lines," not wrinkles --- for sure,
But don't call me old --- just call me mature.

The steps in the houses they're building today
Are so high that they take --- your breath all away;
And the streets are much steeper than ten years ago.
That should explain why my walking is slow.

But I'm keeping up on what's hip and what's new,
And I think I can still dance a mean boogaloo.
I'm still in the running --- in this I'm secure,
I'm not really old — I'm only mature.

Good morning,

This old codger had to go back to work today - after a easy day off yesterday!

I like the previous post by Dr. Bob - and I can relate to some of it!

Dan - trying to think of something clever to say - but being an old codger - nothing comes to mind!

Dr. Bob,

When are you going to put up a new picture - in color - so we can see just how extinguished you look!

Dan - extinguished/distinguished - not much difference between the two!

Sue!

Put up the new one - truth in advertising - you know!! :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Dan - mine is only six months old - but I was badly in need of a haircut when it was taken!

Had to play a little game of "UNO" with him before he started on his gas-run(he delivers the stuff that keeps us warm). It jumped-in-price to $1.65/gal! :eek:

in BOTH pictures, Sue!" Pick the one YOU like the best! ;)

Bro.Dan~you kinda remind me of a guy I once saw on tv years ago...I think the name was "Grizzly Adams" or similar? It was a pretty good show(better than what's on now; one reason I don't watch anymore). :rolleyes:

Hate to say it, Sue, but I don't think either picture is that good. Both look like YOU! :eek:

Of course, I've never met you or know what you look like; you might be old and ugly and just putting up those pictures of a younger woman to throw us off track. Hmmm. :rolleyes:

Granny,

Two big differences between me and Grizzly Adams:

1. He has more money than I do!
2. I don't talk to bears - at least not up close and personal!

Dan - I talk to cats - house cats that is!

Thank you Granny! You are sweet to say that!

Ignoring your first remark Dr.B., I will zero in on the second one.

Are you saying that I'm NOT old and ugly and that my picture looks like a much 'younger' woman? :D

Just ask Pastor Bob, he will tell you if that is his mother or not.
