We have rules of conduct on the BB. We do not use the word "heretic" here. We do not question another poster's salvation (although there are times are worry about you
)
We do give some leeway when someone uses a direct quotation. On another overly-long thread a quotation by Spurgeon, probably the prince of Baptist preachers of bygone years. It said that if a person did not accept the doctrines of grace (calvinism, the Gospel in a nutshell) that they were not just "weak" Christians who needed meat, but were not saved.
I quoted Piper some time back when he noted the damning heresy of the arminian/semi-pelagian works salvation.
Spurgeon did not "question the salvation" of any BB member. It was NOT a personal attack. I did not call anyone here a "heretic".
Please be wise in using a quotation (or even verse) in response to a particular poster. Like if C4K posted something I disliked and I quoted "and is in danger of hell fire". THAT is a personal response that is not in the spirit of godly discussion.
Just hoping to remind everyone that if you offended by a quotation, you have pretty thin skin. But if the quotation is directed at you and it violates the spirit of our rules, please report it.
And for the record, I do believe that some arminian types ARE weak Christians. And some calvinist types ARE weak Christians too. The spirit of this place is to help us GROW IN GRACE AND IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE LORD.
