NASB, hands down. Why throw out what God has blessed?

I'd choose a parallel also, but if I could have only one VERSION, it'd be the NASV, the one through which I was led to JESUS.

 

Where do I buy a copy?

Do you have to stand three days in front of a copy machine to get me one?

I like your reason for choosing the NASV. I suppose if it came down to just one reason for my choosing the KJV, it would have to echo your reason for the NASV.

I thought I was computer literate, but I'm beginning to wonder.

I simply clipped it from e-sword.

I think it is "GreekC", but it shows up spelled in Greek letters on my list of fonts.

It may have been downloaded from a link provided from one of my Bible software programs (e-sword.net or onlinebible.net) I use both and it seems like a link from one of those sites which I had to download to use with the program.

It would have to be the Authorized King James "Bible" (not version). And one that didn't include any commentary notes. Just God's words and none of man's. If I had a question about what a particular verse meant - I'd simply pray and ask the Author of the Word.

 

Ok, then I'd be sure to take my New American Standard "Bible" (not version) as well!

 

Some days its the NASB. Some days its the ESV. I haven't made up my mind.

I'm glad I don't have to!

 

I only use the KJV because of the KJV superiority.

Actually, the NASB is what I use primarily for all the stated purposes. Seems every time I listen to my pastor preach he says something like "now this word here is actually better translated as such and such". I look in my NAS and, sure enough, it already has the correct english word there...

 

I use the NASB because of its superiority. Should I list my 5 reasons, or the 5-fold superiority of the NASB?

Here is an example of what i mean:

Psalm 12:5-7 (KJV1611 edition):

For the oppression of the poore, for the sighing of the needy,
now will I arise (saith the Lord,) I will set him in safetie
from him that puffeth at him.
6 The wordes of the Lord are pure wordes: as siluer tried
in a fornace of earth purified seuen times.
7 Thou shalt keepe them, (O Lord,) thou shalt preserue +them,
from this generation for euer.

Margine note: Hebr. him, euery one of them,

The note shows that the variations in the
Hebrew sources clearly indicate that the pronouns in
verse 7 refer to the people in verse 5. God shall preserve
the needy, poore person. (Not the "wordes of the Lord")

Ed's note: God does preserve His word for every generation.
This just isn't the passage that proves it.

The KJV1611 version with the translator notes is among the
best of all the versions, if it has the translator notes intact.
