We need to be allowed to put recovered people back into their jobs, otherwise our American society is doomed to national suicide by terminal stupidity,

I am afraid once these shortages hit the local market, civil unrest will ensue.

Could cause a run on all meat products. Gotta get this country back up and running by May 1. There are lots of smart people in this country. It is past time for government to get out of the way and allow the private sector to fix the government’s bungling.

Definitely strange times. Interesting how much closing the restaurants has effected demand. I would think that people were still eating so far, so why the huge drop in dairy?

The flip side is, what's going to happen to the countries that must import food? The oil producing countries come to mind, with their focused economies along with oil prices tanking, but there are others.

At the same time I read where 6,000 gallons of milk was dumped in Wisconsin and eggs are being dumped. It doesn't make sense.

The milk was dumped due to no place to store it and nobody to buy it. But I can't see where 80% of our milk use was restaurants and school cafeterias. I dare say it's time for government to buy it and have it processed into good ol government cheese in case we need it fown the line.

I've heard it posited that the store restrictions put in place to stop hoarding are now just limiting demand.

How far are you willing to go to keep what you have and all the thugs around are willing to kill for it?

Your ability to supply your needs are limited by many factors. How are you planning to get feed for your livestock, etc....

They graze on the land so they don’t need corn meal. We are pretty much self sufficient.

Regarding protection, got that covered as long as I got ammo. Buckshot is a marvelous deterrent.

I understand. I just hope, if it comes down to it, that you would be like the British member of a bomber crew during World War II who would go into the woods and pray to God, asking forgiveness for what he was doing.

I don’t know. Never been in that situation. Never had a close family member in that situation. I would hope that God would provide protection and guidance.

Im a great believer in preparation. What if our society as we know it disappeared because of pandemics, wars, economic collapse etc. How would you feed yourself and your family? Would you be able to live off the grid (without pluming, electricity, ample food sources etc). How bout if the government failed? You are on your own! How do you think people will adapt. Not everyone is nice. People are generally not saints. You have something they want. Think about it.... and I’m not suggesting you be the aggressor here. Just defend yourself and your family, feed them and provide for them. In a dog eat dog world, you might very well have to step up to the plate for survival. Here’s willing, it never happens.
