America loves Family and they like (sic) sincereity

Then why did we elect the Clintons, twice?

Furthermore, let me give an example:

Years ago, at a church homecoming, a church member (who was also a deacon and Sunday School teacher) got up and gave a testimony. He cried onstage as he described what a gift of God his family was to him.

Two months later, he left them. He had been seeing someone for over two years.

It took months to clean up the shrapnel.

Speeches mean little to me. Actions do. Now...maybe Michelle Obama is the model wife, and this is the model family. But...first, a healthy family does not a good president make; second...just because it is said in a speech doesn't automatically make it true. It may be, I don't know...but I don't take speeches on face value. I take actions.

Honey on top of a cow patty does not change it into something else.

Step on it and the reality emerges.

No wonder this country is so fallen; when a video can sway emotions so completely and totally.

Yep, you got it right. I'm swayed by the Swiffer commercial where the florist arrives with a delivery from a....Mr. Mop. La, La, "Baby come back...."

Okay here is the YouTube Video

For those of you who think it is a show fine you can hold onto that but for us who are less cynical and see some real sincere and loving family here we also hold onto that and have something to share .

So see for yourself

Not at all. I DO think they are a loving family. However, we don't know what goes on behind closed doors and what is shown in public is not necessarily what is truth. Besides, a loving family does not mean he'll be a good president. I DO think a president should have good family dynamics but that's not the only requirement for the office.

Obama does seem to be smiling, but after all, it wasn't him, but his wife, who was punished with the two babies.

I do believe that conservatives will not abort their babies which is a loving thing to do.

I also know that according to his voting record, he is unsure if the lives of his daughters began at conception (as late as April of this year, in fact).

Undecided on whether life begins at conception. (Apr 2008)
Rated 100% by NARAL on pro-choice votes in 2005, 2006 & 2007. (Jan 2008)
Voted NO on defining unborn child as eligible for SCHIP. (Mar 2008)
Voted NO on prohibiting minors crossing state lines for abortion. (Mar 2008)
Voted NO on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions. (Jul 2006)

I didn't see any apple pie on stage. And, BTW, was there an American Flag on stage? I don't remember.

You know the old saying, defending mom, flag, and apple pie.

It was quite notable that a resounding burst of applause echoed on the mention of Hillary, probably the loudest applause of the Michelle speech.

Why doesn't he say who he is for?

You really just don't pay attention, do you?

Since you're so easily impressed by scripted family moments and campaign advertising, maybe I need to have a slickly produced ad to get through to you.

I also recall another man who ran for president who, instead of using his love for his twin daughters to help him get elected, took extraordinary steps to insure their privacy.

Quite a different approach, and one not likely to impress one is easily fooled by ads.

The scripted choreographed speeches don't mean too much to me.

The spontaneous moments tell me more about the person.

And those previous moments leave me feeling that she is pretty angry and not all that in love with America.

She didn't write THAT or any other Speech None of them do. They have Writers.

I say we vote for Obama's youngest girl... she had enough wisdom to try to fix her dad's mix up last night.... He couldn't remember where he was...
Watch the video previously posted...
And while you are at it, watch Michelle's response when Barack is talking about how we need a persistent president.. something was off... I can't put my finger on it, but she seemed uncomfortable.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080826/ap_on_el_pr/cvn_obama_wife

All in all, I do think they are a wonderful family..
And folks, they are politicians.. this is what politicians do...

Although, I really think the dems could have came out stronger last night against McCain... but they decided to try the likability/sappy factor instead of going into attack mode.

This may hurt them in the long run...
With the Hill-billy Fans demonstrating, this convention will not give Obama much of a bump... especially when McCain announces his Veep.

Anyway, kudos to Michelle on a well delivered scripted speech! She does have talent.

I was just thinking how untraditional of a family the Clintons are, and they got elected twice!

Bill is driven by lust.

Hillary is driven by power and success.

Poor Chelsea...well, poor Chelsea.

My point is this, after eight years of the Clinton-Lewinski-Flowers-Jones (maybe even Madeline Albright for all we know) drama....does family really matter to American voters.

It matters to me and I know to lots of you on this board, but does the country as a whole really care?

Yep, BHO really loves his family. That is why he allows his half-brother to subsist on about $1.00 per month in a slum outside Nairobi, Kenya. That's family love and unity if ever I saw it!:tonofbricks:
