Only in America will we accept the invention of a fake currency, cap and trade points, and barter with them to supress economic growth.

Crabby, I know that you don't like Americans and I can't help you there. But Groundhog's Day is just a traditional little fun that means nothing. No Americans believe that groundhogs predict the weather. But I think you know that.

We also sometimes enjoy British humor (from another thread where you mocked Americans for being .... well, you wouldn't say for fear of offending us which in and of itself is a mocking offense).

I know you have very low opinions of us and like to express them here and it gets really old.

That's right!

Only in America do our soldiers fight for and protect Americans who hate Americans and hate the very soldiers that fight to protect them and their right to hate Americans.

If it's only in America that we don't regard scientists a College of Cardinals, an "infallible" hierarchy, then I'm with Lee Greenwood.

Scarlett, you are quite wrong on that one. However I do know that we are not perfect and that we do make mistakes, all too often.

You are right, it is for fun. I posted it primarily to see who might or might not have a sense of humor. Oh, I expect there are a few Americans who believe in the groundhog's predictions. I know a few people who plant crops by the signs of the moon and who clean their spring by the up or down sign of the moon.

You can find the sings in any good Farmer's Almanac.

We also sometimes enjoy British humor (from another thread where you mocked Americans for being .... well, you wouldn't say for fear of offending us which in and of itself is a mocking offense).

Glad you enjoy Brit. humor. Many Americans do not. It simply sails over some folks head.

Do you like Mr. Bean?

I know you have very low opinions of us and like to express them here and it gets really old.

Ah, but there are those I have high opinions of on this BB and there are those who I do not hold in such a high opinion of, same as in your life also I expect. . [/QUOTE]

I have come to like Americans very much. Oh sure there are rednecks and bellicose know it alls, but that is not a national failing.....there are no boundaries for that . The Americans I have met in person have been without exception the most beautifuly mannered folks, bar none.

I sure hope that isn't Punxsutawney Phil on that plate. If it is how will we know the weather next year
