Sounds like a blatant attempt to trash Bundy so people will be afraid to have anything to do with him. Fear-mongering.

The man already said on his own that he's not great with words and he went this way and that trying to explain his context...it's so easy to twist and turn what people say, or to be unintentionally offensive when you aren't great with words. The politicians are taking vicious advantage of that in their attempts to destroy this man. It's sad to see. Seems they're working with the "if you can't shoot someone yourself, get 'em to shoot themselves" debate tactic. Cheap shot when you're working against someone who hasn't been trained to use speech as a weapon and you have...but it sounds like a number of people are falling for it. After all, nobody wants to be labeled a racist, huh?

You make some very good points, all the more reason for someone to take him under their wing and advise him, as is, he presents an easy target for the socialists.

Hey thanks for that lead, I love this guy's quotes!

Blaise Pascal Quotes

"There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus."

"Small minds are concerned with the extraordinary, great minds with the ordinary."

"All men's miseries derive from not being able to sit in a quiet room alone."

"Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction."

"Jesus is the God whom we can approach without pride and before whom we can humble ourselves without despair."

"The strength of a man's virtue should not be measured by his special exertions, but by his habitual acts."

"Happiness is neither without us nor within us. It is in God, both without us and within us."

"The gospel to me is simply irresistible."

"Faith is different from proof; the latter is human, the former is a Gift from God."

"The supreme function of reason is to show man that some things are beyond reason."

"Faith indeed tells what the senses do not tell, but not the contrary of what they see. It is above them and not contrary to them."

"It is the heart which perceives God and not the reason. That is what faith is: God perceived by the heart, not by the reason."

....six pages in all.

the liberal media is starting to crucify those who supported the guy. check out yahoo.
but here's what it is to me.
he can be racist as much as he wants to be racist, for all I care.
the issue is not his racism.
the issue is the seeming federal encroachment on his property.
if his racist views (if any) should be a factor, then why the heck do we even allow the KuKluxKlan to host rallies ?

Thats part of the problem with us Baptist - if we disagree with one point of another Baptist group - we want nothing to do with that group at all.

Kind of off topic, but I wonder if it were four generations of Native Americans that had been grazing cattle on government land--would the Bureau of Land Management come after them as hot and heavy as they came after Bundy?

We had our "cattle" grazing on the land before it was seized in the first place, by Bundy's family, with the Gov.'s aid. They're called buffalo.

Not sure of your point, but I was using the phrase oft-quoted by the Socialists to guilt free men into yielding the floor to them. If there was speech that condemns a man, it is the political speech of Socialists.

But suddenly, because of politics, one's speech is used to strip him of his right to liberty.

The point is I learned something, I'd read/heard the quote before, had thought one of our own patriots may have said it originally, turns out it's the author of a book about a philosopher who is the originator.

Also I wasn't aware that the phrase is oft-quoted by the Socialists to guilt free men into yielding the floor to them, so, I've learned something else today! Thanks.

I've often wondered if the prairie in it's natural state would produce more protein in the form of bison than now with all the most advanced farming technology. I suspect it would.

Right! And one speech, one single utterance of suggested racism &/or impropriety and you will have given them enough ammunition needed to build a case. Had he had shut up, and let the lawyers do their jobs.....Welcome to the "REAL" World.

It is an interesting argument.

We created the dust bowl, by trying to farm the praries.
We know that was foolish.
The Bison were migratory, and something had to give.

In the real world liberty is preserved only by blood.

Ever and anon......IE, YUP!

Thats called "Pushback" & most people are not comfortable with that. But there & again, I believe mans natural state is war....so bring it on.

Sorry, but no. If you say you "wonder if 'the Negro' were better off as slaves, rather than being on government subsidies" there is no mis-interpretation. Bundy is self-incriminating himself as a racist. There is NO CONSPIRACY to make him say inappropriate things.

"Racism" would require him to believe that The Negro's race 'deserves' slavery, solely because they are Negroid.

Wondering aloud if social engineering has benefitted the local Negroes is not necessarily racist.

The situation begs the question.

Social engineering actually is provably racist.

Let's discuss that sometime.

I didn't read where she said it was a conspiracy to make him say something. The media does this by default, not necessarily by conspiracy:

54 laying wait for him, to catch something out of his mouth. Lu 11

20 And they watched him, and sent forth spies, who feigned themselves to be righteous, that they might take hold of his speech, so as to deliver him up to the rule and to the authority of the governor. Lu 20

2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him. Mk 3

13 And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, that they might catch him in talk. Mk 12

Nothing new or 'conspiratorial' about it. By instinct, they lay in wait like a snake.
