Jimmy Carter is a good and decent man? Please!!! He's the worst President this country has ever had and his theology and politics were and are detrimental. Thank God he only lasted for one term. I can just imagine the bleeding heart dribble that comes out of his Sunday School class.

Quite a matter of opinion. I believe we have had several presidents who were worse than Carter.

If neo-liberals can eliminate opposition within organizations like SBC and even our government to homosexuality and abortion then their conscience will not bother them and they can invite them in their churches and make it a normal practice in our society.

There has always been opposition to what Jesus taught among conservatives and liberals. Remember who James addressed--those who thought they were secure in being the people of God. In essence the conservatives of the day. During the time of Jesus there were the conservatives (Sadducees) and the more liberal (Pharisees), whom Jesus addressed.

Think about the pastors on the news recently who have fallen. Were they conservatives or liberals theologically?

Anyone who gets their eyes off of God is not exempt from the conviction of the Holy Spirit and God's judgment.

Isn't that rating Clinton and Nixon quite highly?

You neo-liberals have not a clue what the conservative of the day was. Jesus was the conservative the opposition was the liberal as they "progressed" the law.

The fact remains that when we have a majority of truly conservative Christian people in power it promotes the spreading of the Gospel. The idea of this scares the liberals to death and makes the devil very angry.

Actually from church history, the Gospel has been spread far more effectively and widely in the midst of persecution than in the midst of power. :)

Well, if you want to inspect my politics I am a Libertarian demo-publican.

The liberals transgressed the law in their idealologies of thinking they kept the law. They perverted the law to their own way of delegation of matters of religion. They only appeared conservative in an off-base sort of way and the "umpire" called them OUT!

I am in general agreement with that but I am not sure that has always been true considering Pax Romana.

Jesus addressed the Sadducees and Pharisees differently. Sometime take a look at the Misnah a little to see how things were interpreted differently by the liberals and conservatives and then compare that to what Jesus taught. Jesus never saw himself as conservative nor is He conservative. He is God. During that time Christianity was radical as opposed to the faith of the Jews which was a creedal faith only. He is also the author and perfecter of faith. So that does not make him a conservative nor was his leadership that of a conservative nor did He teach conservative Christianity. He called His disciples to a radically different life of radical Christianity.

When everything is said and done God is still sovereign. God had his way with Madalyn Murray O'Hare and with her son William. What a contrast!!

He called his disciples to be obediant, as he was.

(Altide) No, they don't push a Republican agenda. It just so happens that the Republicans are at least, in word, closer, much closer, than democrats are to actually being conservative. Personallly, I think both groups are leading us to hell in the hand basket. But, at least the Republicans are not in the hip pocket of the homosexuals, the peace nicks, the global warmer, the socialists, unions, abortionists, and liberal bleeding heart Christians who don't even believe that life begins in the womb.

You're kidding, right? Most on this web site push the conservative Republican agenda. Take a poll.
The statement was "push a political agenda instead of Christ".

Even if most have a conservative, political outlook, that doesn't mean they are pushing that "instead of" Christ, which is the strawman spoken of.

peace to you:praying:

At one time W.A. Criswell was quoted as saying, "I have always felt that it was only after a child was born and had life separate from the mother that it became an individual person, and it always has, therefore, seemed to me that what is best for the mother and for the future should be allowed."

It seems that according to you that even though he claimed to believed the Bible that at one time he was one of those liberal bleeding heart Christians. If at one time he was a liberal bleeding heart Christian then what does a conservative look like?
