Did you ever notice that the places mentioned in Isaiah 66, where the Kingdom of Zion first reaches toward, are the same areas that are first visited by the missionary efforts in the Acts of the Apostles? Very instructive.

Make no mistake on this point. Physically, there is no longer a Zion for them to come to. In AD 70 the Jewel and Crown of earthly Zionism is laid in the dust by the Roman Empire. And within 70 years years the next - and last - Jewish revolt, that of Bar Kochba - is decisively and inexorably put down, the glory of city of Jerusalem demolished. Earthly Jerusalem is finished, having long since become the Babylon of Revelation.

But the Jerusalem from above, "the mother of us all", Gal. 4:26 - the one Isaiah and Revelation - assures us of, is not finished. It just keeps growing. In fact, of this "kingdom there shall be no end." Luke 1:33.

And I'm waiting for that Jerusalem from above to rejoin creation. As laid out in Revelation 21, specifically verses 5 and 10.

(And how have you been lately? Are you able to travel now?)

Doing pretty good, Rob, thanks. Still cant leave Ukraine. We are in Ivano-Frankivsk.

I guess we disagree on when the Heavenly Jerusalem was to come. I see it as present, and the verses you gave as referring to the event long past..

The event long past was the present event that Jesus started on the Cross, before this world was created. Jesus after ascending, went back and created the heavens and the earth.

The New Jerusalem has not been created yet. It will be created in an instant between current reality and the next reality.

Looking forward is looking at the New Jerusalem.

I'm glad to hear you're doing well. We have a friend who went to India for a wedding, still not sure when he'll make it back.

Looking at Rev 21:1, I don't see where the old heaven and old earth have passed away. I'm standing in it, with the same death and mourning that verse 5 says will be abolished.

I feel for those who are stranded in some of these countries. For us it is no great hardship. Our Russian (and German and English sometimes) gets us by.

Did you ever do a study on all the heavenly Jerusalem passages? I think it would be a worthwhile study.
