Faith is the evidence of things unseen.

The Greek word “evidence” here is elenchos,

ἔλεγχος

a word used only here in the New Testament. It is a word which literally means “proof”, “certainty”, “to bring to light”, or “to demonstrate”.

Hebrews 11:1

Faith is the substance of things that you hope for, the evidence of things not seen.

This refers to saints who did not need visible, tangible affirmation of God’s promises being true. Their faith was a metaphysical verification that what they hoped for, based on divine promises, would come to pass.

In fact, in some cases, like healing, it was faith that brought it into being.

Luke 17:19

And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

Mark 5:34

And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Mark 9:20-22

And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: for she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

1) No, faith is NOT evidence. The Greek word translated as "evidence" by the your translation choice does not mean evidence. Look at other translations:
Conviction is found in ASV, DARBY, ESV, MOUNCE, NASB95,
That which convinces in found in CJB, EHV, GW, NOG, NET,
Assurance is found in NIV,

Bottom line, faith provides our conviction in the reality of things promised.

2) We agree, faith undergirds our belief in the reality of what we hope for.

3) Faith provides the access to God's grace which in Luke 17:19 resulted in being made well. Ditto for Mark 5:34 and 9-20-22.

1) No, faith is NOT evidence.
You are bold in your denial of what God’s Word clearly states.

Hebrews 11:1

Faith is the substance of things that you hope for, the evidence of things not seen.

The Greek word “evidence” here is elenchos,

ἔλεγχος

a word used only here in the New Testament.

Elenchos literally means “evidence”, “that which is indisputable”, “proof”, “certainty”, “to bring to light”, or “to demonstrate”.

The unsaved natural man needs tangible physical things to act as evidence.

The saved Christian man has supernatural, metaphysical certainty —- faith as evidence.

Our believing is the only evidence that we need to know for an established fact that the promises of God will come to pass in our life.

Faith is NOT evidence, the KJV mistranslated the Greek Word. Simply reposting the mistranslation as if that supported the false view is a waste of electrons. I showed what the Greek word actually means and supported it with numerous modern translations.

Bottom line, faith provides our conviction of the reality of God and His that He will fulfill His promises.

Pistis refers to our conviction of the truth of something promised.

Faith undergirds our conviction, and establishes our certainty that God will fulfill His promises.

Hebrews 11:3 NASB
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He proves to be One who rewards those who seek Him.

Noah built the ark because he was certain the flood was coming.
Abraham left His home because he was certain he would receive an inheritance.
Sarah considered God faithful, even when He promised her a child beyond her years of fertility.

See the pattern, by faith we act according to our conviction of the reality of God and His promised salvation.
