Is eternal life a hope or a know? I believe it is both.Tit 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
Here hope is linked with faith. A joyful expectation of which we are certain.1Pe 1:21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
Hope which is steadfast and sure.Heb 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
Here eternal life is said to be something for which we should hope.Tit 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Same again.Tit 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
Here we find the "hope of salvation." I said in an earlier post "hope of heaven."1Th 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
Please forgive me if I am being incredibly dense here and completely missing the point. But where is my definition of hope wrong?
Are you refusing to wear your helmet?
