The text doesn't say this at all.
Or perhaps you believe it because your denomination believes it and you are failing to think for yourself?
Where have I stated that this is what my denomination believes? I am not reading 'into' the text, I am simply reading the text. The Apostles were given bread that Jesus broke, and they ALL partook of it according to Paul, therefore they MUST have broken it again. To assume anything else would be rediculous.
You fail to consider that disagreeing with either your interpretation or the interpretation of your denomination is not discrediting the Bible.
You haven't been disagreeing with me, you have been trying (with others) to discredit what the Bible says about Communion, so that you don't have to follow the example given by Christ. But rather keep with your tradition.
I have been asking for the specific text in Scripture which supports your belief that each piece of bread was broken.
Again, I ask, where did I state that it says each piece was broken? The only thing I posted was the BIBLE saying that JESUS said "THIS is my Body which was BROKEN for you". If it wasn't broken, then He was lying.
So far you answers have consisted of nothing more than specualtion on your part.
Actually my answers have been mostly scripture! It has only been in the last post that I speculated anything. And even in that speculation, I stated that it was speculation!
Please, point me to my words which "expressed a dislike" for breaking of the bread?
If you don't have a problem with it, then why the argument? ALL of your words have 'expressed' a dislike for it! If you LIKED it, then you would do it!
Again, you have failed to offer chapter and verse to support your speculation.
Again? When have I offered speculation that isn't backed by scripture? Even in THIS, my speculation is based on what is found in scripture!
Your personal attacks against me do nothing to prove your position.
I apoligize if my stating the obvious, and my observations have come across as a personal attack. I do not mean them as such.
The Bible says, "Take and eat." Where does it say, "Take and break each and every piece."?
It tells you by the example that Jesus gave, AND by the COMMANDMENT that Paul gave. EVERYTHING that Paul said "are the commandments of God". Paul said to do THIS. Jesus said DO THIS. Do what? Take a wafer and bless it and then NOT break it, like He did? NO. He said DO THIS as OFTEN as you eat it! What did He do? He blessed, broke and THEN said 'take, eat'.
There is no question as to what is in the scripture, if you don't want to do it, it is between you and God. My hands are clean. I have declared to you the truth from Scripture.
God Bless
