“Acts of monstrous criminality stand on their own,” Ms. Palin said in a video posted to her Facebook page. “Especially within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence that they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible.”...“it is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions....
“We will not be stopped from celebrating the greatness of of our country and our foundational freedoms by those who mock its greatness by being intolerant of differing opinion and seeking to muzzle dissent with shrill cries of imagined insults,”....

She should heed her own words and not use inflammatory rhetoric and graphics putting people in telescopic gun sites.

She is correct. I am tired of the blatant hypocrisy and horrendous rhetoric that the naivetes of our world believe because "the media says so." If you take one glimpse at the inate hatred of some on here, toward this human being Sarah Palin, that tells you a whole lot about them, not her.

Of course the liberals are going to use the gun sites against her. Who cares?

These liberals hate all good, and are "hostile toward virtue" just as Paul declared they would be in the last times, 2 Timothy 3:3.

What we have here are a bunch of liberals angry that the conservatives took over because their socialist wheels were coming off.

Did you even read the OP?

Obviously not.

Crabby, are you in favor of limiting free speech so as to disallow "inflammatory rhetoric and graphics putting people in telescopic gun sites"?

Of course not. That would be putting safety over freedom, or something.

Excellent. We see it on this very board.

We have people on this board who mock holy living, and mock those who abide by this teaching. Yes, those within the church do so to others. 2 Timothy 3:3 applies to these also, you are correct.

I'll just believe my Bible when it tells me over and over to walk holy, to practice holiness, to be holy as he is holy. It's much safer this way.

People that deny this central truth teach me one other factor: that they are not going through trials, as is indicative of those possessing genuine faith, as God removes the dross from our lives in that we become aware of our own personal lack of holiness and instead purify ourselves. And let me tell you, He has revealed I have personally more than plenty of dross myself.

I'm sure she will quit fighting back soon. After all, quiting is something she is good at!

Laugh as you wish...

The truth of it is that she has accomplished far more in her life than most of her critics could ever dream of.

Present company not excluded. :tongue3:

Ironically, she is continuing to ratchet up the discord that she says she deplores. She's said her peace now I wish she'd clam up.

Our leftist librarian should do his homework before making koolaide stained statements. Palin did not put scope cross hairs on any map. They are surveyor marks. Only folks with an agenda would make these marks something different than they actually are. Now, if Crabby would do his homework he will find that it was leftist organizations who actually put targets on certain states and areas.

Asking for reasoned, contemplative reflection from the American media is like asking an infant to do quantum mathematics...it's just not possible.

This whole gunsight/surveyor thing is a foolish red herring. Honestly I think someone in a newsroom found it, put it in a drawer to wait for a tragedy like this to take place. So sad, so predictable.

Nice try Sag, but it won't fly. I suppose you have never looked through a telescope on a rifle ... or through a surveyors level or transit. Those are not surveyor marks, they are cross hairs. I understand why you and other apologists are trying to blow smoke, but everyone with a brain knows it is a false stance.

Palin has taken a lot of grief since the shooting spree because of an irresponsible image she used on her Facebook page during the campaign. In listing a group of Democratic Congressional seats that she wanted Republicans to win, she used a map of the United States and imposed images of gunsights over several Congressional seats. One of those was the seat held by Congresswoman Gabby Giffords.

(Palin has since claimed the image wasn’t crosshairs, but that’s nonsense. It was.)

Sarah Palin's gun sight-riddled campaign map is so militant that it's even lost her the support of "The View" co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck, who called Palin's behavior "despicable."

After "View" co-host Joy Behar said the map, which features white and red gun sights drawn over districts whose Democratic representatives voted for health care, "looks like an al Qaeda Christmas card" Thursday, Hasselbeck -- who campaigned with Palin in 2008 -- spoke up in uncharacteristic agreement.

If they were not cross-hairs why didn't Palin or her campaign advisers say so back in March? Why did they wait until after this tragedy to suddenly make this pronouncement?

You have Sarah Palin in your crosshairs. :)

No, not at all. I do not believe she is unqualified to be the president. She has been very inflammatory in her rhetoric and crosshair graphic is, IMHO, over the top. She does not seem to realize that words, graphics and actions have consequences. If she doesn't mean it why does she flout poses with rifles? Why the macho, militaristic photographs? Do a Google search on palin rifle, then click images and see what you get. Be prepared to see skin. She shows a lot of skin in some of the photos.

EVERY politician has used inflammatory rhetoric including your beloved president. This is NOT an excuse for murder!

If inflammatory rhetoric put people in telescopic gun sites, then Obama should be VERY afraid!

Amy, it's called being a hypocrite. And, they are surveyor's marks not telescopic gun sites whether Crabby wants to admit it or not. Again, Crabby is coming here with a koolaide filled agenda but I'm afraid that the vast majority of the United States isn't buying this latest hypocritical attempt by the left to smear the right. Before they start trying to clean up Palin's website and Rush's supposed inflammatory rhetoric perhaps they need to first clean up their own.

Not every politician. In fact, three congressmen, all Republicans, signed civility pledge. Would that all congressmen/women would sign it and live by it, candidates also.

However, your point is well taken. Far too many do use inflammatory remarks. I have commented on how wrong this is in a number of entries in various threads. Anyone who claims to be a Christian certainly should not use vitriol remarks and graphics.

Sure, they're surveyor marks. Everyone equates targeting something with surveyor marks. Sheesh!
