Amy, it's called being a hypocrite. And, they are surveyor's marks not telescopic gun sites whether Crabby wants to admit it or not. Again, Crabby is coming here with a koolaide filled agenda but I'm afraid that the vast majority of the United States isn't buying this latest hypocritical attempt by the left to smear the right. Before they start trying to clean up Palin's website and Rush's supposed inflammatory rhetoric perhaps they need to first clean up their own.

They have been called crosshairs in the press for some months. If there were not, why was the correction not mentioned by the Palin folk until after this tragedy?

Why the poses with rifles and shotguns?

Sag, do an online search and see how often everyone in the press has mentioned crosshairshow surveyors marks appear only after the tragedy in Arizona.

I wonder how many people have goggled "surveyors marks" to see what they are?

Surveyors marks do not fit the image Palin has created with her support of aerial wolf-hunting, halibut-clubbing, polar bear shooting, etc. S. marks just do not fit the created image, crosshairs fit the tough gal image very nicely.

The lunatic who shot those people had nothing at all to do with Sarah Palin. The mainstream media blaming her is a ruse. They know that the shooter more identified with their side (90+% of mainstream media are left-leaning by their own polls) and they have to find a way to spin the story.

Note that the "rhetoric" started in the Left, not the Right. The press and talk shows that are conservative in nature reported the shooting. The media that leans leftward said that Palin's rhetoric caused the shooter to do what he did. Sad day when reporting has come to this...

This story was reported on the news here (sans crosshairs) and the comment was made that it is going to keep happening until America does something about its gun laws.

The next two stories were about a couple being shot dead and a gangland style shooting here, where handguns are illegal.

I've done both. I've also seen crosshairs through camera lenses and microscope lenses.

In my personal opinion, Sarah Palin is a complete moron. I can't stand to even hear her talk. Her looks and aggresive personality are the only reason she's in the limelight. With that being said I'm a republican and voted against Obama and I have been against most of his policies. I know it's cliche but I don't trust any politician, I certainly don't trust their words. None of them have any problem lying to us.


About the gun control. I'm a supporter of gun rights, but I don't understand why anyone needs a gloc. Why does anyone need an automatic weapon? That goes beyond protection or hunting. I just don't see the point.

Regardless of who say what about cross-hairs, or targets or who criticizes them for it. The shooter is the one responsible for his actions. He was evidently deranged and I doubt anything anyone did or didn't say on the issue would have made that much difference. When a person is looking for a reason to act out violently, they will find a way.

I am a little on the other edge of all this. I do not like Palin, in fact the only reason I would vote for her is to not vote for someone who approves murder of babies. I hope she does not run and I have found her comments extreme and radical.

However, I agree with her on this point. Extreme comments have been in the political process since the election of John Adams and was most extreme four years later with the election of Jefferson. Attributing her crosshairs as provocation to murder is lame. Yes, her use of those images are horrible and another reason I dislike her... but it is not murder and I do not think anyone in their right mind would believe she would suggest murdering people and most who viewed the website probably did not take it that way.

To take an individual's act and attribute it, both by outright proclamation and subtlety, to people like Rush, Beck, or Palin is just crazy. If you must have a scapegoat, you have one... The scapegoat is a secular worldview, a world who hates God. This morning in my devotions, I read on Cain's murder of Abel and the commentator said, Cain did not kill Abel because he hated him, but because he hated God. Truly, murder is a result of hating the things of God and the ways of God. It is a rebellion against Him and comes from the depravity of man. This man murdered because he has no love for a great God.

When Columbine was an issue, did we hear people argue that because these were left wing evolutionists that the rhetoric of the atheistic left wing should cease? No! They were lunatics who embraced radical theories and were mentally disturbed. That is what it was but on a spiritual level, it was much deeper, it was a world who hates God in rebellion to Him.

The solution is not shutting up Palin, passing laws to ban Beck or Rush, or putting metal detectors everywhere. The murderers will still find ways to murder. The solution is the Gospel of Jesus Christ proclaimed without fear to a world who hates God.

Do you believe the crosshairs on Sarah's map are wrong, but the targets on the DLC map are just fine? After all, crosshairs are just used for sighting. A target is what is actually shot at. Isn't using targets therefore much worse than using crosshairs?
