Pastor Steven Anderson Cheers Orlando Massacre: 'There's 50 Less Pedophiles In The World'

Steven L. Anderson, pastor at Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona, on Sunday applauded a mass shooting in Orlando that left 50 people dead and 53 wounded.

Described as the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history, a lone gunman with possible ties to ISIS attacked a gay nightclub.

In a video posted Sunday, Anderson cheered the massacre, saying that the only down side was that more people did not die.

“These homosexuals are a bunch of perverts and pedophiles, that’s who was a victim here, a bunch of disgusting homosexuals at a gay bar,” Anderson said. “The good news is that at least fifty of these pedophiles are not going to be harming children anymore. The bad news is that a lot of the homos in the bar are still alive, so they’re going to continue to molest children and recruit people into their filthy homosexual lifestyle.”

Anderson added that he does not approve of the gunman's actions because the victims should have been “executed by a righteous government.”

“These people all should have been killed anyway. But they should have been killed through the proper channels, as in, they should've been executed by a righteous government,” Anderson said.

Anderson made headlines in 2014 when he told his congregation that AIDS was God's judgment on gays. “f you execute the homos like God recommends, you wouldn't have all this AIDS running rampant,” he said at the time.

Anderson added that Sunday's victims were already facing an early death from AIDS.

When I heard this story on the radio, I was going " Lord please, PLEASE don't let him be a Baptist."

Him and the Orlando murderer's father are two peas in a pod.

I'm just waiting for it to come out that the dude was gay and couldn't deal with it.

WELL! That didn't take long.

'Omar Mateen was gay': Orlando terrorist pursued a relationship with male classmate, was a regular at gay bars including Pulse for the past decade, and used hookup apps like Grindr to meet men

Omar Mateen, the gunman who murdered 49 people in an Orlando gay club in early Sunday morning, was a gay man himself according to multiple people who knew and had met the man.

A gay man who attended the police academy in 2006 with Mateen said that the pair went out to gay bars and that at one point Mateen told the man he wanted to pursue a relationship.

Meanwhile, multiple people are now coming forward to say that they had spoken with Mateen on gay hookup apps including Grindr and Jack'd.

The shooter was also somewhat of a regular at Pulse, the sight of the Sunday massacre, with patrons of the club saying they saw him dozens of times at the venue.

Mateen's horrifying attack was initially thought to be rooted in extremist Islamic ideology, but investigators now believe that may not have been the case.

'He's a homosexual and he was trying to pick up men,' said Jim Van Horn, who called Mateen a Pulse 'regular' and described his approach to chatting with people in the club.

'He would walk up to them and put his arm around them or something and maybe try to get them to dance a little bit or something and go over and buy them a drink.'

I don't know who Steven Anderson is, nor why his idiotic opinion should matter to anyone.

So the purpose of this thread is what? Just another opportunity to paint "christians" with the same broad brush.

Zaac - how come your answer to the meme Rev posted in another thread was that the Orlando shooter doesn't represent all muslims or all gun owners; but then you start a thread about one idiotic pastor with the comment "please don't let him be baptist"? Do you somehow believe Anderson is representative of all baptists, much less Christians? Or are you being hypocritical in your thinking?

So now Zaac will respond with "he's an example of posters on this board, and Christians need to get off their rockers, and blah blah blah...."

Well since Don knows how Zaac will respond and blah blah blah, there's no reason to really think Don was looking for a response from Zaac.;)

WELL! That didn't take long.

His problem was that if he was gay, and a christiasn, then he would have found those among us accepting his lifestyle in certain 'churches", but since he was a strict Muslim, his own religion tought him that he would be punished by death!

Don was hoping that Zaac would prove him wrong and actually provide a substantive response; looks like Don's hope was wrong, and his original expectation was correct....

Zaac doesn't really care what Don was hoping for.

Well, Zaac, let's start again: why does Anderson represent baptists, if the Orlando shooter doesn't represent muslims?

A TV-smashing, don't-let-your-women-folk-see-male-doctors, women-shouldn't-have-the-vote and -shouldn't-be-wearing-pants kind of Baptist, he is. No one was sorry to see him leave. Funny thing, he has a small church, but his outrageous sermons have a wide viewership on the web. Some are true believers, I guess, but I'm pretty sure more people watch in trainwreck mode — or to gather anti-Christian fodder.
