"Pastoral Counseling"

What is your concept of "Pastoral Counseling?" I had always interpreted the term pastoral in the broader sense of the term- meaning "spiritual care" rather than being a pastor or overseer of a church. Thus, a pastoral counselor would be one who counsels from a spiritual or Biblical perspective, similar to a neuthetic (sp?) counselor, likely under the supervision of a pastor. Your thoughts or insights would be appreciated. Thank you.

Pastoral counseling is just that to me and my years in the church. A pastor counseling - hopefully from a spiritual point of view :laugh:
