    Wihtout commenting on the fairness question or the likelihood of your managing to stay in this pastorate and make a go of it with the church, I do have to comment that the senior pastor sounds like someone with an emotional-spiritual problem. He needs a real friend -- not a toady who always agrees with him, but somebody who will speak the truth in love and then get him to the professional help he needs, whether that be psychiatry, pastoral counseling, therapy, or whatever. This is a sick man, making churches sick.
