Pastors, please share a bit about ...

Your welcome JoJ... I really think every church has a vision for their future. Whether or not they write it down.

Every Pastor that is in touch with the Lord should know the path God wants that church to take.

Like I said before, I announced a few weeks before, that on Sept 10th, everyone was to share their vision for the church.

And then I was unusually quiet from the pulpit about our future. I wanted them to give me what was on their heart, not parrot back what I wanted to hear.

Amazingly, their visions matched my vision for the church.
Now with the vision statement, we are all on the same page.

They told me last week that for over 2 yrs they had their vision within them, but had never had the opportunity to share it...and that it really meant something to see it written down.

We are now in the planning and implementing stage.. We are disecting the statement and implementing programs that will fulfill it....

Some are already in place, like a very active missions dept., and an active youth group, but we brainstormed last week, and found many other things we can be doing also.

I am also preaching a series of sermons starting this Sunday called "Intentional church" where I demonstrate from the scripture where we need to be proactive in the world instead of reactive.

Well, that's enough rambling on for now...

The Great Commission should be our vision or our mission statement.

Of course, we should define whether we define mission as vission or vission as mission . . .
