This is a topic in the baptist forum thought I would bring it down here.
Most pastors I know have there living expenses paid much like that of an Army Soldier plus a salary to cover extra expenses. I'll give a list of things I think a Pastor should be provided.
1. Houseing - provide or given rent or morgage
2. Phone/internet service
3. Transportation and expenses - nothing fancy but needs to be in good shape and fit the pastors family needs
4. Food - based on family size
5. Medical - should be provided to the family of the Pastor
6. IRA - should be provided
If your church is small supply what it can.
If the Church members average income is 20k a yr. then the pastors standard of living should be equal or below that. This should go for all congregations. As a church grows the pastors responsibilties become much bigger and he should be paid appropriatly or compensated.
