Just curious, why would the Southern Baptist Cooperative Program have any problem with Pat Robertson?

    Shiloh,
    I wonder about this also.
Pat Robertson is an Ordained Southern Baptist Minister.

Because the members of the Southern Baptist Convention, who fund the Cooperative Program, have a problem with him.

</font>[/QUOTE]Yes. That is what I mean. Part of some of those members is myself. We will see how widespread that is. Thank you for pointing out the obvious. [IMG]

Family Net is owned and operated by the NAMB, which is funded by the Cooperative Program.

I want to encourage all Southern Baptists who are concerned about this heresy and hate being given a forum on a Southern Baptist Television Station owned by the NAMB which is funded ultimately by you and me through the CP to e-mail the leadership of the NAMB and tell them to get this program off of our station:

Contact the NAMB. Click on Contact us.

    I have already sent mine.

Does the SBC have any problem with woman pastors and even homosexual pastors? Why get all bent out of shape over Pat Robertson? Leave it.

The SBC has a problem with both women and homosexual pastors. They are against it. Pat Robertson is a WoF heretic and a hatemonger. I will not leave it as long as my tithes are helping to broadcast his heresy and hate.

Uh...where have you been? Obviously not in an SBC church.

I know of no one in the SBC that supports Robertson.

You might be surprised. Paige Patterson recently hired a professor who graduated from Robertson's university. Of course he has hired some dispensationalists who graduated from DTS.

    Tater,

Read the first post in this thread and you will very clearly see that the NAMB, and therefore, every Southern Baptist who tithes to the Cooperative Program financially supports the broadcast of the 700 Club on a Southern Baptist television station called Family Net.

I read it. I meant that I know of no one personally who supports him. And I dont think the average pew sitter knows that their $$ supports him in htat way. I think its ridiculous he in on familynet as well.

A lot of things are done in the SBC for money. Take some time and ask a few questions about where the annuity boards invests its money.

Please limit this thread to discussion about getting Pat Robertson off Southern Baptist Television. If you would like to discuss the Annuity Board or why you are not a Southern Baptist, please start a new thread.

Joseph, I don't think anyone strayed off track here. You are upset with the Cooperative Program support of Pat Robertson. It has been stated that the SBC supports many people like Pat Robertson. The question should be, why get so bent our of shape with them supporting Pat Robertson? If you don't like it.....go independent!

    Joseph,
Bravo and A-men. We are here to show the love of God through Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world. The world looks with a wary eye towards Christians as a given, so we already have obstacles to overcome, which only the Lord can enable us to do. The last thing that we as Baptists, or any other Christian for that matter need, is "leaders" of the Christian community in America (especially on TV/cable that reaches millions) making irrational, unbiblical statements from a Christian forum. Someone who is a leader in a church is called to a higher standard. There is probably no way for us as humans to calculate the damage that has been done by the 700 club.
