Okay, I misread the linked Baptist Press article, which does not spell out what happened so I missed what they were saying with the prison rules explanation. Thanks for the correction!

The SBC seems to me to be tied up with theological debates that cannot be discussed quietly but end up like street brawls. I think that the solution is to leave the Faith and Message alone, urge calm, and abolish the ERLC to get rid of secular politics.

Someone proposed to get rid of the ERLC at the convention by proposing to defund it. They voted against it. The cagey cals did well in getting a large amount of their people to show up to the convention.

Perhaps the Generalists were just showing "general" indifference and stayed home, while the Particularists were "particularly" concerned and showed up.

Greear, in my opinion, can defend his theology. Problem is, he does not want anyone to know what his theology is. He is on the fence, big time. To defend it, he would have to first plainly state what it is.

Not pushing anything. The most liberal pastors in our association control it. The GBC has too many people I consider liberal in higher places in it.
