Hi FERRON BRIMSTONE

You said.......
“Not all Evangelicals believe the Bible is literal, especially Genesis.”

And here is the reason why......
“The number of authors(of the Bible) ranges from the hundreds to the thousands, said Carol Meyers, a religion professor at Duke University.”
And although I am sure, that Carol Meyers, wouldn’t ever claim to be anything close to an Evangelical, she has most likely taught a few.

Here is a little background on her......
CAROL L. MEYERS (at Duke since 1977) was educated at Wellesley and at Brandeis, where she received her Ph.D. (1975) in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies. She holds the Mary Grace Wilson Professorship in Religion. A specialist in biblical studies and archaeology, she is a prominent scholar in the study of women in the biblical world. She has authored or co-authored eight books and has edited or co-edited five others. In collaboration with Dr. Eric Meyers, she has written Haggai-Zechariah 1-8 and Zechariah 9-14 for Doubleday's Anchor Bible series. Also with E. Meyers, she has published two major archaeological reports and is working on two more. Her book Discovering Eve is a landmark study of women in ancient Israel; and her recent reference book, Women in Scripture, is the most comprehensive study ever made of women in Jewish and Christian scriptures. Dr. Meyers co-directs Duke's summer in Israel program. She currently serves as Director of Undergraduate Studies in Religion, and she is an affiliated faculty member of Duke's Women's Studies Program.

A good example why, we can’t trust modern scholarship.

John 5:46-47
V.46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
V.47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

Since these folks on the NOVA program are at the cutting edge of modern biblical scholarship and they believe the Bible had as many as 2,000 authors I ask them to NAME just THREE.
